I didn't see the gus and jones fight but I think a fighter has to beat the champ not just last 5 rounds with him to win the belt.
 
Gus beat him. He just didn't finish him, thus the judges ruled in favor of Jones.


Dude had to be carried out. Pic above shows him on a stretcher for crying out loud.
 
In some people's opinion, yes Jones lost. The judges gave him the decision, though.
 
bullshit the title holder needs to be knocked out to lose the belt... gus walked out on his own, jones needed help. did you see jones face? hello...?

i heard that the doctors were wanting to throw in the towell because of that nasty cut on jones face, and that he begged them to keep the fight going.

gustaffson won that fight in my opinion. and sure as shit he knocked jones down a peg or two...

i hope so too but i dunno, i think gus HAD his number... jones is damn good, he'll be much more prepared for swedes style the next time.

i gained alot of respect for jones from his post fight speech. he didnt really claim the win, because i think he knew in his heart he didnt... but he was respectable and just plain nice about it.
 
ok how is a fight to be scored ?? total strikes ?? I know it is a combination of things but when one fighter gets out touched by other fighter....shouldn't that be clear enough....

My heart wants Junior to pull it off, but my brain is going with Cain!!!
Also kind of hoping big crunchy blasts through DC! Probably won't happen though.

Probably, but I really hope not. I like Weidman, supposedly his fight with Anderson was the first fight he ever had an actual full training camp. He just winged it in all his last fights. Who knows if that's true, but if it is then that's badass!!!
 
yeah, heart goes to jds but brain goes to cain. im rooting for cain but really just wanting a good fight.

weidman/silva... if silva can get over himself he'll win. but weidman got him... hes not gonna be as scared of silva as silva will be aware hes coming off a loss from being stupid. if that makes sense...
