unlimited wraith budget

I ordered beeftubes that should fix stripped axles

Still need soon advice about the dlux Fab no slop bushings

Some more goodies arrived today
Temp sensor for motor from Jr this will allow me to monitor the motor temp full time via tx
A Jr power system sensor to give me complete battery data via tx gives data like v., Amps, consumption rate
And a hitec digital servo programmer this so I can get everything out of the servos that available
Still waiting on mail for my rpp delivery then on my son/Mech to do his magic
Oops while typing this email says its here
So now I have the new VP clamping style chubs
2 9t hardened and 2 10t hardened pinions can't hurt to have spares

So now beeftubes installed and they fixed my stripped axle chub screw holes
New VP clamping chubs they are much better fitting then original VP chubs
New hardened 9t pinion installed on motor with Jr temp sensor
Test drive
It run around grass pretty good not out of control fast but quick acceleration temp of motor after 20min of test drive was 101°
When trying to crawl up small concrete step and the RR gen 3 slipper is slipping
When we installed new pinion we checked and slipper was all the way tight my son disassembled it for me while I slept last night looking at it this morning everything looks good
It didn't do it prior to changing pinion does anyone have any suggestions

Geez man. that's a lot going on in ashort amount of time. Have you even been able to drive it?

What kind of driving are hoping to do with this once it's done?

Well not really just testing in grass and a concrete step but I'm trying to get the bugs out before I go anywhere with it
My plan is to install a fpv system once complete I own a well built 1/1 jeep tj that I haven't used over 2 yrs cuz of work related injuries I then saw some of Harley's vids on YouTube they were like crack so I figured I'd build a fpv wraith so I could wheel again I can't do work myself so I have my son when hes available do the wrenching for me so its taken awhile to get to this point but I'm almost there just a few things to work out

So we checked all drive train and all seems free and smooth we then took spur gear and cleaned with rubbing alcohol reassembled everything took it out side and ran it about 3 mins and motor is sizzling wtf!!!!!!???!!!???
Can someone help
We brought it in to bathroom scale it weights 13 to15 pounds ESC is hh brxl motor is crawlmaster 16t we have a 9t pinion and rr 56t spur
Are we expecting to much from this motor/ESC combo

OK motor we disassembled it and brushes seem to be rough chipped on the edges and the commuter thingy is shinny/smooth but black like it got to hot any ideas do I need to go brushless and what kV should I get I want to go slow/crawl mostly

Wow, that's a heavy rig!

Go big or go home Vic! If you've got no limit, do a Blue monkey IFS conversion. Great truck though. Very solid rig and very well built. "thumbsup"

Not sure I want ifs may be next one once this one is done schooling me:roll:
thanks

Well MMP, ROC 412 3100,and some new pinions on the way (thanks rpp)
Any suggestions on what size battery I should use with this combo

It will work, I have the same setup and you will get a couple to a few hours of crawling out of a 5000, I tend to use my 2300 - 2400 batteries more often though, I still get a good run time out of them and they are a lot lighter, my rig seems to crawl better with the lighter batteries.

Update:) currently I have had a few test runs/drives only problem is the rear MIP does not like to stay connected to the rear d shaped trans output shaft any suggestions for it

Everything else seems solid motor w/10t pinion is to fast for me so I'm gonna try 9t when I fix rear driveshaft issue

All the Jr stuff has help me learn about battery consumptionand monitor motor temps in real time without temp gun plus their remote has so much program ability that helps with 4ws

I'm in process of learning about computer video editing/and rc fpv equipment for my next mods

Plan is to add 2or3 small HD fpv cams so I can post some vids of my adventures

Probably gonna be a few months gotta learn new computer and how to edit/post videos

Just out of curiosity, why are you using an aircraft tx?

After getting hurt at work I have very limited use of my left shoulder/ arm and found it much easier for me to use plus it gives me some great steering mixes, extra switch's for dig, fpv equipment I plan on adding and telemetry on LCD screen stuff like motor temps, battery consumption, voltage all displayed in real time

The tx/RX with telemetry add ons cost a mother load but now that I've learned how it all works I love it plus I've yet to find its full range once testing it was a least 3/4 mile for me could hardly see it then I turned and landed on lid

Another thing I've noticed is using MMP throttle curve combined with tx throttle cuvre gives it insanely detailed lowend throttle control "thumbsup"

so its been awhile after first building and test and tuning rear driveshaft kept coming lose and then got my roc412 damp/wet I put it a side to deal with some other projects
I now have my trans/motor removed some
got 6mm outputs
removed the dig stuff
has anyone got their roc412 wet before mine was still running normal but it had a loud scream to it not like a bad bearing but more elec sound and I quit running it and blew it off with compressed air haven't looked at it since
shaft turns like it did new
should I oil bearings with something
or have it reassembled and try it
