I've been driving the SCX10 pretty much stock for about a month now, and it's been awesome. But, I figured it was time to start making a few custom mods. First thing I did was re-locate the steering servo from the front axle to the chassis with a couple home made brackets that tie into the stock frame cross members. I was just able to shoe horn it in underneath the battery tray out front and get very minimal bump steer. It took a few tries to get the placement right, but it seems to be working pretty good from the couple small test runs I've got on it. I also cut the servo plate posts off the front axle to clean it up and give it a more realistic look. I also plan on cutting the posts off the rear axle as well.

Looks really good so far

Thanks. 8)

Next up was figuring out what body to run. Since I'm going to go for the pre-runner look on this particular build our Diablo body (Part # AX4002) was a prefect fit. The wheels are perfectly centered in the wheel wells without any mods to the stock SCX10 wheelbase. "thumbsup"

Sawheat! After watching the SCX build yesterday, I'm thinking I want a goat system. "thumbsup"

So Brad, can you make any comment on the hinted at new axial shocks that are coming soon?

Looks sweet Brad! Which compound tires are you running? Prototype G8's or the M2's? I am curious how they compare.

Not sure when they are due out at this point, but I'll let you know when I find out anymore info. "thumbsup"

Can't have a pre-runner without some spare tires. ;-)

looking really good brad. I like the servo mount and the spare tires. Very nice pre-runner style. "thumbsup"

will this be your '09 scale nats 1.9 entry?

wondering how many scx10's there will be this year, guessing a ton. :)

So are you going to do some cage work on this thing? Welded or brazed right to the c-channel?

Thanks Ben. 8)

If I can make the comp, this will be the rig I run. I'm guessing there will be a bunch of SCX10's there this year. ;-)

I do plan on doing some cage work that'll tie into the stock rear body mounts, or the red aluminum cross member I installed between the rear shock towers. It'll probably be a bolt on deal so it can be removed. 8)

To hold the rear tires in place I used a red 98mm link, and drilled/tapped an M3 hole at each end. I opened up the holes in the center of the wheels to .236 diameter which allow the link to slide through. Then drilled a couple holes in the body that are used to attach the link to the body. 8)
