Using 1 battery to get 14.4 volts

Can you split the battery connection to connect the battery to both sides of an EVX instead of using 2 batteries. I am trying to get to 14.4v without using 2 batteries. In my mind it seems like it should work. Any help is appreciated.

Trying to simply split 7.2v battey with two leads is not 14.4 volts. Your giving 7.2 volts through each lead.

Can't split a circuit into parallel and get more volts magically.

You will need two packs or make a 12 cell pack and put two leads on it :flipoff:
 
I understand that... however on an EVX you are plugging 2-7.2v batteries into it... I am talkin about putting 7.2v into both of those same connections, just using 1 battery to do so.
 
basically you really want to "delete" one of the EVX's leads to make it work right? Just make a connector that connects the positive and negative wires on one lead and simply use the other lead for 7.2v operation.

If your truly trying to run on 14.4 volts you need either two seperate 7.2v batts or one 12 cell 14.4v batt with 2 leads.
 
I don't have an evx but I have seen the mod that makes using 1 battery and after seeing that it seemes to me that all the 2 leads to the evx do is hook up the two packs in series. So now think of what will happen if you plug in your pack into both leads, you will be shorting out the pack, cause when you use two packs they hook up +-+- to the evx, now you will be trying to run the -+ conection back to the + of you pack instead of to the + of a sepperate pack. Basicly you will do the same thing as if you just cut of the conecter of your battery and stuck them together........spark......sizzle........burnt up pack. IMO

That last one will short, if you use a 14.4v batt then you need to do the mod to eliminate the extra lead.

A single battery can be used with the evx on the plug that powers it up (and powers the servos). The other side (dummy plug) has to be jumpered + to -. The problem with using more than 10 cells is the bec circuit may not handle that. I've been using a max of 8 cells on that side.
