Concussed myself.
The car had an absolutely wasted upper ball joint so I got to replace all 4 upper control arms for good measure.
While tightening the bolt for the strut to one of the lower control arms the wrench slipped to which I smashed myself in the face smashing my temple into the steering knuckle. Apparently I really managed to accelerate my dome into the knuckle. Migraine, eye soreness, nice big bump and bruise on my temple and I want a nap. Yup, pretty sure I rattled my noodle!
Takes a LOT longer to put the car back together post concussion than it does without a concussion.
I'm not old yet but kneepads are a game changer when working on a garage floor.

@Deerhurst Well, you're typing good so I'd say you're brain damage free! Hope you're okay and getting checked out if you think necessary. I got to the point I use some sort of padding not only in the garage but also while doing landscape work. I need actual knee pads though.

When I take out any of my SCX6's. I always take my trail builders backpack just in case something were to fail. The 6 easily fits in that backpack.
I would love to see a pic of this backpack you speak of!
Not my first rodeo of concussions. Usually it's a hit to the back of the head. The previous one a few years back was a hit to the side of the head while mountain biking. Missed the helmet completely and caught the tree with my jaw and side of the head.
I definitely have effects from all of the concussions, mostly short term memory. It's accumulative it seems. This one seems to have been pretty minor.
Kneepads rock! I usually forget that I have them.

Finished up my day yesterday with a relaxing shower and into clean clothes when out of nowhere I hear this loud "POP! SHHHHHHH!!!". You know... that telltale sign that your relaxing evening is over!
In the 15-20 seconds it took for me to get there and shut off the valve, the bathroom had taken on about 1/2" water from a blown inlet hose to the toilet. Fortunately it didn't migrate to the carpeted bedroom so with a squeegee and a ton of bath towels/ beach towels/ rags, I was able to get it under control pretty quick. Set up the hi-power blower fan overnight and I believe we averted any moisture intrusion. But that bathroom was drenched floor to ceiling. Had I not been home, this would've been an absolute nightmare.
So today was all about a quick trip to home-depot and then making things 'like it didn't even happen' as the ServPro commercial says lol. Man, I'm tired. Gonna replace the hose on the other toilet this week just to be on the safe side.

Years ago I bought a toilet shut-off valve that had an auto-shut off in case of hose breaks. Not sure if they are still sold, but may be a good option to have.

It's funny that there are certain noises that happen... some that you blow off like "Hmm... probably just a squirrel in the attic" to those sounds that immediately throttle the anxiety cause you know without a doubt "this is bad" lol.
I may look into that down the road but this hose was about 25 yrs old and we have hard water to begin with so it was a ticking time-bomb. It's on me though b/c I shoulda replaced those when we bought this place six years ago. I knew they were old... just got complacent.
Indeed. Fortunately the flooring is single sheet vinyl and the baseboard trim is well caulked/ sealed between the flooring and between the walls around the entire room... Probably why it filled up so quickly lol. And the sheetrock walls/ ceiling have several thick layers of gloss paint on em so I don't feel that the water was able to migrate behind any of that.
Yeah... water damage scares the hell outta me for all the obvious reasons.

Today I'll be attending the first of two graduation ceremonies I am required to attend.

Got an apologetic response to my email showing my 3 custom width bumpers are not custom width; therefore, they've sent me a return label and order will be fixed. But I'm going to put it in picture for on what I need done so it's 100% accurate lol.
Ahhh the pleasant sounds of 60PSI cleaning the ceiling. heh

Obviously a portable Dehumidifier, but there are Humidity Collection Bags you can get and just hang up and they'll actually draw water to them. Maybe hang it on the curtain rod when the shower/bath isn't used and it can/will help draw any excess moisture out.
Biggest issues are seepage under the toilet and Vanity, besdies floor edge which sounds is not one you have to be too concerned with.
But the collection bags are pretty nifty items.
Today was worky worky. Then got home and checked on the Chicks/Duck eggs. Found 2 ducks had hatched, but they didn't make it. All the moms are new, including the chicken, so I'm not sure whats happening. I didn't see them last night when I checked so I think they hatched this am while I was at work. Kind of sucks sometimes being the only one here right now....Shit like this happens.... :-(
But they have 2 more eggs as does my hen to go. The 3 chicks that have hatched are doing great and growing pretty fast right now.
Otherwise. took this weeks check and the payout on my surplus PT and made the paypal payment. SMDH. lol

I wonder if the hens are abandoning the chicks after hatching and causing an issue with them succumbing to temps too cold? We had that issue before with young hens... although that was in colder months. Got to the point where we would just incubate and hatch the eggs indoors.
I appreciate the input. Yep... vanity right next to the toilet but I think we're okay. And pretty sure some water got under the toilet although that's fairly well sealed too. I'll be replacing that throne before too long... hopefully this year so I'll be curious to see what it looks like under there.
