I guess the only RTR in the entire industry I don't like is Traxxas' VXL line. Its a great line of products for a great price, but it gets a little old seeing posts on other forums where someone buys their first car and its a VXL. They get it and a 3s Lipo and go out for their first time and hit a tree going 60+ totalling it and then get on the forums flaming about how "delicate" it is.
Our local hobby store now refuses to solder lipos. Someone got a pack and had them solder deans to it. They then went home, inproperly charged it (probably with a nicd/nimh charger) and left it for a while. It burnt their house down and they told the insurance company it was the hobby shops fault because they were the last ones to touch it. I guess they had a hard time explaining that they didn't sabatoge the pack-they just changed the connectors! I ran into this new "we don't touch your lipos" policy when I didn't have a nice iron and was having trouble with micro deans. I ended up getting them soldered just fine later that day, but it was pretty sad hearing that they were getting attacked by an insurance company because of an ignorant customer
