ok so I guess this is everyones question or maybe just mine...
when the wheel manufactures state there wheel off sets what is the offset from or what do we use as a starting point?

yeah think I just answered my own question... the off set is from the center of the wheel but that cant be right most wheels have hex adapters which would make the wheel have a greater offset... so is it the offset from the hex, what about pin hubs...? very confusing to me

I would call and ask the guys at rc4wd but they don't have a phone. all that money and they still don't have a phone....

scale wheels (or RC wheels) dont follow the rules of 1:1 cars. 1:1 cars the offset is from center, positive (outward) or negative (inward).
RC wheels with zero offset have most of the wheel behind the lock nut. On these wheels the locknut face is usually flush with the front edge of the rim.

For example, this is a zero offset wheel:

This looks to be a +5 offset wheel, meaning you'll see 5mm of rim sticking out from the spokes:

nah when I offered rc4wd that concept they said that I had no idea what I was talkin about pretty much

i told them with a standard 0 offset touring car wheel my width from wheel to wheel was 7.something inches ... and with the stock wheel on my cc01 it had a standard 190 offset... which was a three mm offset from the touring wheels..

You will find most people have zero concept of wheel backspacing, offset ect. Scary in the 1:1 world not as critical in the rc world.
Pantablo is correct in what he said. Rc4wd on the other hand...
Get your 3mm of set touring rims if you like. I believe the axial beadlocks are 6mm,I measured them once before. Its been a while.

well if hes right then im right too bc that's how I presented my question... but im lookin for a 9mm offset that is at least 30 mm wide

a beadlock set that doesn't cost $150


the 9mm offset would bring the cc01 wheel base 6mm from stock bc you have to account for the other 3mm that the stock wheels have. a regular 3mm offset wheel on the would still be the stock width..

I think I found something, axial 1.9 beadlocks... not the width I was looking for but supposed to have a 10mm offset. Anyone tried them?

I needed the wider offset for more stability.. especially if I get a hard body

got my slickrock wheels waiting for me at lhs will get to see the offset of those. the were only like $6 a set so I figured i'ld test them out. ordered them a week ago. they seem (from the pics ive seen) to have a wider than normal offset also.

slickrock rims have a really small radius.. stock Tamiya tires wont fit... is that normal? (I sure hope so)

I would rather have tires that fit the slickrocks than the stockers. rear width stock 7.5in, slickrock 8.0 . Front stock 7.25, slickrock 7.75

The 1.9/1.55/2.2/etc is actually measured inside the bead contact area of the wheel, not the outer rim edge. Measure the area where the tire bead sits with a caliper and you'll be dead on.

guess the slickrocks were a bad choice bc they are 1.9 on the outer ring not the bead

the guy at horizon said they should fit regular 1.9s so i'll just have to wait and see.... they should be here any day now

Every tire I have tried except touring car tires. I have not tried stock cco1 tires.

Not using tamiya tires,..the tamiya tires that came with my kit are street tires. I'm supposed to get my aftermarket tires any day now.. they kinda are a mix of a bfg and all terrain tires. Hope they are good

It's been a while since I even thought about crawlers.. I've been goin through my wheely king info. Do you still have to cut the foams into the star pattern or is that for larger trucks?

Star cut foams are old school! Not necessary anymore with current foam tech. Figure out what tires you are going to run and how heavy your rig will be, then you you can figure out the optimal foams. I generally run pretty light rigs so stock memory foams are adequate for me.
