What type of 32P 11T pinion?

Just picked up a Capra kit so I'm new to the party (but not new to RC and I have been running a Jeep Rubicon SCX10 0G for a while).

I want to use a 11T pinion as everyone have been saying the stock pinion makes the truck go too fast. The Axial one is out of stock until mid August. My LHS has Traxxas. And Robinson Racing has different "grades" - regular, hardened, extra hard.

Will the Traxxas work? If I go RR, which grade? Or should I be patient and wait for the Axial one to come in? I don't want to mismatch material and one wear out the other prematurely.

Get a RR hardened pinion and don't look back.

Any 32p pinion should work. I went with a Robinson Racing "Absolute" hardened pinion gear.

Get a bunch, see what you prefer; noise will be the consideration

Is your spur plastic or steel. If plastic, the regular robinson will work. If steel, get the hardened

The Capra trans is a bit unusual in that the pinion gear does not directly drive the spur gear. Instead it drives a metal idler gear, of which every picture I've seen makes it look like it has a goofy tooth profile.

I prefer the Robinson Racing Absolute lineup of pinions.

Does anyone know if there are currently available or plans to make a machined idler and spur available for the Capra?
