Wheel Hop...

I think so. I experimented a few times and ended up with 60wt oil and heavier springs. I guess I changed the oil too many times cause my shocks totally started leaking. I ended up getting some Yeah Racing shocks. They're pretty good for the price and come with various springs.

I have the factory shocks still and want to swap them out sooner or later. Way to soft. I think I will remove the internal spring and put a thicker oil in and see how that does.

Will going to a thicker shock oil reduce/eliminate wheel hop by dampening it better?

Not if it's already overdamped. ;-)

Rear foams and link geometry play a big part as well as oil and spring.

Uh no. :|

Not if it's tuned right. Heavier rig needs heavier dampening and foams. Lighter rig, lighter dampening and foams.

Tuned my truck good, and I'm currently running about an ounce shy of 4 pounds RTR with minimal if any wheel hop. "thumbsup"

Maybe I should try s stiffer foam...

Sure. Stiffer foam should theoretically reduce grip (like running a higher air pressure I suppose) and possibly make the tire spin instead of grab and let go, thus hop.

Easy enough to try.

does anyone else have any tips or tricks for wheel hop im runing blue rovers with 2 stage proline on about a 8pound bully

thanks

i made some brackets for a savage shock conversion...using 40wt in the rear and believe it or not...baby oil in the front(lavender scent,my daughter said i could use some). both are working very well. Mem foam will also play a pretty big role with hop as will weighing the wheels down. i dont get any wheel hop
