wheely king chassis sneak peek!!

i'll put up nekkid chassis pics up tonite or tomorrow. my pic program is on the fritz. my i.t buddy is coming by after work to sort it all out.
b.t.w. i got 19th out of 25 in the comp. it was a blast!! the chassis held up and performed well.

DOH!! just a little longer... (lol)

yeah, i thought i did a little better, my second run went south at gate 5. of course, AFTER the comp i flashed up that gate 3 or 4 times!!!!!

Come on!!! Come on!!! Hello where are the photos! Skulls What about the Skulls??? SIGH... I guess we are gonna have to wait wait wait.......

I stil can't see how you can be so proud of yourself for using all the stock stuff, whoopdy doo! HPI already did that! A hundred people have posted part #'s and how to's of stretching the wheelbase, what else are you offering? a chassis that is made of something else? What good does that do. If it's just a slight upgrade that will appeal to some, GREAT!, but this is about the third thread you've started about the same thing, and act like it's the best thing since sliced bread. Either update the original thread, or post something TRULY outstanding. ENOUGH!!

Any aftermarket chassis for the WK IS better than the stock-high-c.o.g chassis. The WK chassis is too tall and has alot of body roll. With this newly designed chassis, the king will be lower with better flex and more flexibility in mounting bodies. (you can't mount too many types of hard bodies due to the length and height of the wk stock chassis). Also, using stock parts is a nice aspect of a kit because you don't have to buy more parts and can save that $$ for something else.

Don't bitch at someone's hard work.

thanks to all of you for your patients and support. now,
here it is......... the SKULL-KRUSHER!!!

these are pics of the pre-production design. the production version will be only SLIGHTLY different to accomidate the cutter.

note that on the chassis only pics, there are only some of the holes drilled. it will have all of the holes needed to mount your links, shocks & tranny. there will be 3 or 4 shock-mount positions to choose from.
the electronics trays will be included along with a centre skid-plate.

as you know, the w.k. tranny mounting plate has a "keyway" type of nub that sets into the chassis. i have ran the chassis without this feature and it works just fine, but athestically i like it better "keyed-in", so it is.
this is truly a bolt up affair for MOST w.k. owners, and a great way to step up the look, performance, adjustability and attitude of your wheely king.

I WILL HAVE A SOLID PRICE LIST POSTED UP TOMORROW. THERE WILL BE A COUPLE OPTIONS TO ORDER W/ THE CHASSIS. YOU CAN ORDER IT UP AS A CHASSIS ONLY, DRILLED OR NOT. YOU CAN GET IT W/ LINKS AND SERVO MOUNTS THAT WILL GIVE YOU A 12 1/2" WHEELBASE USING YOUR WHEELYKING AXLES.

as i said earlier in the posting, you will need to relocate your steering servo and your battery placement. there is the great servo mount thats available on the w.k. forum, or i make a servo/link mount that goes over the axle. i highly reccomend 2/3 a(?) batteries.they're the kind you run in an 1/18 scale truck or buggy. they can mount anywhere.

i will start a pre-order within the next few days and i will give a 15% discount to all of the pre-production orders.

what are battery mounting options? it looks like not to many but the upper links and/or the axle. Any place front or back. How long is the chassis all together including the esc mounts.

upper links. if your using a lipo, well, the upper links. its just the best place to put it. down low and there is space. i had a regular battery there and it fit, but there is far more clearance w/ the smaller packs. plus, you can fit up to a 10 cell pack in a "hump" style configuration.

see i want to try and stay scale looking and don't really want the battery on the upper links. I'm thinking i'll get it and run it strapped to the bottom of the mounting plates. You think that would work?

yeah, actually i also set it up w/ the battery velcro'd to the bottom side of the front battery tray.

the length from top bone to top bone is 7 7/8". the electronics tray mounting can be veried to set further back in the chassis to shorten the overall length and to lower them further down too.

Kool looking frame!!! I was wondering what you use to mark tha courses in the comp. Really bright what is it? Chalk I hope!!!!
