Hey fellow MOA's
Had a blast today with my 2.2 V1 stock berg axles as finally got independent ESC's working and on 4S . but i broke a front short shaft.
1. What are you guys doing to get more steering angle?
my tire hits the shock and lower link on both sides. theres no room to move the shocks or lower links further inward with motor there.

2. Is there a way to widen the wheel track/(axle? to gain more steering angle space.

3. what axle shafts can be used to modify to fit RCBros lockers?
Weld it, braze it, machine it

Running some sort of high steer arms, could be vanquish knuckles like XR10 style to fit my stock berg axles.

yes I read berg bible, maybe its just me, but there must be another way besides buying $150 axles.

I heard to use wraith universal axle and then braise them to fit the berg. but no further details on that.

Thank You

If you have stock knuckles I don't believe xr10 or ar60 universals will work..

Dluxfab missing link locker with axial xr10 universals but you'll need axial or VP ax10 or original scx10 knuckles.

Thanks guys.
ok so How to figure out which knuckles I have?
I upgraded back in 2011
they are really nicely made , silver finish. no markings
they have a smaller outer bearing 4.88mm ID and the inner bearing ID is 9.89mm . the outer axle excepts dog bone style.
arms are at the top and angled away from wheel
could be CKRC high steer arms for AX10 or XR10.
but ckrc.com is gone
been searching web and images to see if can match up what they look like.
and even found some of my threads back to mid 2011. but havent found image yet.
I create build threads for all my builds but havent found omy berg build yet.

How can i post a pic, since having issues with photobucket.

I post images using tappatalk really easy.

The missing link locker was designed for v1 berg to run xr10 universals.
Locker internally is off set to allow the xr10 universal fit short side of tube.

Thanks a Million!!
while researching which knuckles i have, so far they could be CKRC, they are OTA knuckles with an inner bearing ID of 9.89mm and outer I.D of 4.88mm
so would that work on XR10 shafts?

looking up XR10 shafts available now

Watched Dlux video showing how thin the universals are and that 8mm shafts are better but I dont have wheels that have lug bolt holes
so I can only fit axial XR10 CVD or universals

THANK YOU

There's a difference between axial knuckles and Berg knuckles. It's the off set distance from king pin to inner bearing.
The area where the universal/CVD joint would be. If you run an axial universals with berg hi-steer knuckles you probably have some binding issues.

I'm sure someone else could explain this better than I.

Thank you, thats a great obersvation of alignment pivot point.
Really great chattin w you today.

as i mentioned, my local hobby shop told me over phone he had XR10 shafts
so i drove 25 minutes only for him to hand me SCX10 shafts
Now I am really curious on differences.
My Dlux missing link lockers are due in several days ,.

As I wait, im polishing the axles and looking into ways to gain the space needed so the wheel can actually turn further as now the tire is stopped by lower link, shock. So I may mill down the motor face to gain 1/16" , change my lower links to gain 1/8", and spacer on lower shock to narrow it more to get more tire turning space.

resolved and done
post pic soon.
1. XR10 universals $30.
2. Dlux Missing link locker $15.
3. wraith brass steering knuckles $30.
4. either ditch the 10x4mm outer axle bearings or replace with 10x3mm wide so that the xr10 axles fit inside so that the pivot point of the universal is inline with pivot of the knuckle
5. mill down the brass to the height of berg axle mounting point. or place 3 thin washers on and bottom.
6. make new aluminum top plates with 10mm hole inline pivot point

thanks for tips Tapedout
