What's the best charger for the money ( low budget) for charging preferably up to 8 cells, and possibly lipos? Thanks

MRC Super Brain 977 is the one i use, does them all. If your an RC Universe member there's one on there for sale now for $80 shipped. Great charger.

Look at the onyx 230, Duratrax's finest product in my opinion.... LOL. Sells for around $80, AC/DC, Lithium anything, Nimh, NiCd, .5 to 7 amps. 10 profiles, and an adjustable "safety" timer. Very cool unit. We sell a lot of them at our shop.

thunder ac6

Hyperion 0606i DC, you can pick up a dc power supply or make one from a PC.
Battery chargers are not an area to go cheap on
I got a lipo, nimh, and nicad charger from hobbypartz.com for $55 plus s/h. It does everything ,balances, charges, and has a storage charge mode and tons of other features .I know it sounds to good to be true ,but it is not. you will be very pleased with it. The best thing is it is simple to use. It also charges the other lithium batteries lithium ion I think there called.Check them out.

I use an older Triton and a modified PC power supply w/external balancer (Equinox). No complaints but getting tired of using he external power and balancer - too much clutter. Too lazy to build a charging box/station.

I wanted to upgrade to one with a built-in balancer and AC power supply. Was looking at the Triton EQ or Triton EQ2. While searching, I ran across many positive reviews for the $55 charger that Slashbasher mentioned.

The Thunder AC6 seems to be similar the Triton EQ spec wise. For the cheap price, I believe I am willing to give it a try.

I would go with the hyperion eos06061 ac dc unit. Has balancer built in to it. And they make tabs for just about any battery i can think of. And it is a great unit overall. If you plan on running anything higher than 3s lipos maybe go with the new Hyperion eos720i up to 10 amps charging i think but it is only dc power supply.
