Which servo saver to use with traxxas 2056?

Hi,

new to crawling, i just mounted a traxxas 2056 servo to the diff of my wheely king, all the different servo savers are confusing me, what servo saver, or style of servo saver would best suit my application?

Thanks

None. Use a solid aluminum servo horn. "thumbsup"
+1.

Best bet is a clamping style aluminum servo arm.
The GHracing (AKA, Golden Horizons racing) is about the cheapest and it works well.
Robitronics is top of the line, but costs a little more.

I used an Integy (?) and it sucked. I now run the GHracing unit and have had no issues on a HiTec 7950 servo.8)

Yes, any 25 spline horn (like one that fits Futaba) will work.

A servo saver will help protect the servo, but you will lose torque being delivered to turn the wheels by using one.

Re: Which servo saver to use with Traxxas 2056?

OP, servo savers are great for "high shock load applications" like "go-fasts".

In crawlers, there are limited shock loads to a steering servo. Thus, not an issue.
More likely, you "want" to "move a rock" but a servo saver will piss away most of the torque through the "SS".
That is why 99.9% of crawlers WILL NOT use a SS.

In my carpet & dirt rigs, the steering is "low torque" and thus no/limited power is lost through a "SS".

For crawlers, you WILL strip out the servo arm splines over time if they are crap.
Thus my recommendations.

Thanks for the advice. My wheely king is running a 13t Brushless, steel tranny gears, steel driveshafts, rear LSD and the stock 6 Inch tyres, it is a bit of a basher thats why I am considering a servo saver. Do you think it is neccessary for my rig? I have the servo mounted on the front diff. I bought some alloy steering linkages, but I decided to keep the plastic ones for now as they themselves are servo savers in a way because they do flex quite a bit.

Thanks for the advice.
