why does everybody hate on PitBulls on Scalers?

So, we have come to a consensus that true scaleness has no place in performance based scale rc crawling and the use of the pitbulls will be determined by vote by active members of RCCRAWLER and SCALE4X4 (you get an additional vote for each sanction scale comp you participate in along with 3 votes for each class at Scale Nationals you purchased tickets for less the Stock class.)

Just curious, but is this something that's already been decided? Did I miss the thread? I'm much more in favor of the setup like USRCCA has with each club having a representative to the rules comittee. I'm not sure why the ability to travel to a "National" event should dictate a superiority in deciding rules.

The problem is that we can't police true scaleness and make people provide a spec sheet showing the true scale of their body, tires, tubing, shock length, etc. Although I can provide that for Guido if anyone would like. ;-) Many people even at scale Nats don't know what the scale of their rig is, they throw whatever tire looks about right, or is tall enough, under the body of their choice and go with it.

This is what I find funny. Those that bitch about tires not being scale also run links, shocks, springs, bodies, tires, etc... that are not all on the same level of being scale with each other.

Although... I'm one that goes with what looks scale in my eyes. To me, the Pitbulls look scale when on the right rig. Yes they boarder the lines of Scale vs. Comp perspectives but these are TOYS!! They are meant to be FUN.

I'm not sure on the scale of the MJ but I can tell you it is bigger than a hilux that is supposed to be 1/9 scale?

This is the hilux.

And this is the same chassis with the MJ.

I agree with u. 2.2's are hard to make look real scale. What is the WB of gudio
You really have to be building an extreme truck to make a 2.2 look scale. Luckily the 1:1 Four Wheeler Top Truck Challenge has made rigs like this more mainstream. Guido's WB is 13 1/4", really close to WarPig's Bronco.

There is no room for fun in comps Brett! :flipoff::ror: I think tires are just an easy target, I agree most people complain about tires but don't scale everything else.
Heck, I made the RTI of Guido scale to JR's 1:1 Bronco.
No, but it looks good. So no whining. :flipoff:
:ror: Thanks, looks cool, not very scale, but tons of fun. "thumbsup"

Hmmm, I'll scale out the Proline XJ body I have with my daughter's 1:1 XJ this weekend. That is bigger than I thought. Is the Proline MJ cab the same size as the XJ body or bigger?

You guys make me dizzy. :flipoff:

5.4/2.05 = 2.68
They are skinnier for their height than Rok Lox.....I'm gonna try a set but I'm gonna get me some Pit Bulls for sure now.

With their scale 46.4" height and huge lugs they should resemble 47" LTB's more than SX2's.

should be in the 1/8 scale range at least using ruff measuring.

I am guessing but just off the WB of the MJ it is in the 1/8 scale range to.. I have not got to do a side by side yet of the 2.

those 2.2 swampers will be my next 1.9s :D

The MJ is the same size as the XJ. Only difference is the MJ fender flares and wheel opening.

MJ on left.

Here's my Proline FJ, like the height of the Pit Bulls. But I'm on the fence about the width. I'm going to try a narrower wheel than the CAC's they're on now. And also mess with foams, running Nova double deuces.

this is just my opinion but when they talk about scale, well most rigs that use 2.2 are 1/10 scale, and the first post on this thread even says that yes they are scale but only if your rig is 1/8, and thats might be the reason why people don't like them for scale, I personally don't like the 2.2 if I was going to build a 1/10 scale rig because then you would be running a 45" to 53" tire on 22" rims... haven't seen any rig, even TTC trucks run 22" rims.
so I guess they are scale but only really if you plan to do a 1/8 scale rig, just my two cents
