I need to know a good router that isn't super expensive (needs to be wired tho). I will be running a PC, laptop once in awhile, and Xbox 360 off it.

you will have a hard time finding a wired only router nowadays. the wireless are so cheap now there is no reason not to get one. they have hard wired ports on em anyway

The venerable Linksys WRT54G is a pretty good router for the average computer user. Very popular. They are mainly a wireless router, but they have 4 ports in the rear for wired stuff. So you could get one of those if you ever plan on using any wireless stuff. I would imagine your laptop has wireless, right?

There is a non-wireless version of that router as well...

I'm not personally a fan of Linksys, but many will recommend them.

I use D-Link for small networks, they make tons of quality routers, both wired and wireless.

Thanks guys...Friend told me to get linksys but after reading about them, I won't be going with. I just wanted a wired connection but since i can do it with a wireless anyway I will just do that.

Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT 3rd party firmware. I had one that had an up time of 3 years without a manual reboot. It worked awesome until my daughter set her cup next to it and prompty spilled it on the router. Now I have a WRT300N with the same 3rd part firmware. Works just as well, just faster wireless with the draft-N. I get solid 130mb connection everywhere in the house and both floors. I can almost make it to the neighbors pool 100 yards away (and through my place plus one more home).
