Well just got my daughters truck body done all I have to say is holy pink.
her having fun with it getting ready to put the first scratches on it
And my oldest showing a couple of boys how it is done with dad's scx
by the way they are 9 and 6

My daughter saw this pink bug ax10 and says "Daddy I want one!" lol nice job. Now you just gotta remove anodized green for nice polished links and it will be awsome!

Looks pretty sharp, time to take it out and rough-house it a bit.
I think the trail truck Gods are frowning on me. I was waiting for the wheels I wanted to come back into stock, finally decided to just get some crappy ones I don't like 'cause they're in stock, I no sooner add them to my cart at TCS, and the SCX frame set goes on backorder! I went over to A-main, and was building my cart over there, the website crashed. Just a LOT of bad mojo where this project is concerned.

Shake it off and keep hunting, you'll find what you need :mrgreen:. What did you have in mind for a trail rig? Keep an eye on the "For Sale" section here, too. Sometimes you'll find good deals.

I wanted to go with the Outcropper tires, I think if I went with an OD green or flat camo miltary theme, they'da looked the part. The wife thought they looked too toyish if I didn't go that way. Then I saw the video RC4WD has on their Rock Stomper page, and those just look like they'll flat out work without getting loaded up in mud or snow. Not sure I'm all too excited about running pin mount wheels, but the silver aluminum billet hex hubs would look silly in the middle of black wheels.
At this point, I'm kinda wanting to re-use the AE-1 ESC, but it sure would be nice to have something with a LiPo cutoff.

Impressive list of goodies "thumbsup". I think you'll be pleased with a capable, well-built trail rig. Most people don't run their comp rigs through the mud, water, ect so it's nice to have a truck that's made to go almost anywhere.

Yeah, I took my comp rig down to River Park to get some photos, the first ones went real good. Then I went looking for a washout I could get a pic with the tires spinning. Found one, but while fumbling with a camera and controller both in one hand, the comp rig wound up upside down in the chocolatey colored goodness that is, the Wisconsin River. Came home hit it with the heat gun, seems to be back to working okay.
Shoulda just stayed inside and worked on this......
Not completely committed to running that Blazer body yet, but that is probably the way I'll go.
Should be ready just in time for the 2012/2013 Winter Comp Series to start up. :lmao:

Now I would suppose you'll hafta decide if you want to run new wheels to match yer pretty body, or tear up that body to match them war-torn wheels.
Say, on another subject...... For those who have run them both ways, is it better to run my battery mount in the front or rear? I got the SCX chassis together, now it's time to tear apart the wife's AX, and k-ball what I can.
I like the idea of running the battery up front (primarily for some sort of 'scale' weight bias), but wasn't sure if the truck'd be easier to drive with the battery in the rear.
Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences? Anybody? :???:
