I run the pack cross-ways behind the front wheels and in front of the trans. I fab up some simple brackets and bolt the battery plate to the frame. Good weight bias and lower CG than the stock location...strictly my personal preference.

What do you run for a wheelbase on the truck you run a Blazer body on? I put my untrimmed ProLine 3244-00 Blazer body and it looks like that body calls for something in the 10-3/4" to 11" range. That sounded pretty short to me, do you run yours that short?

I checked the wb from my old blue and white Blazer body, and it's right at 11". The CGR Blazer is at 12.25". Both bodies have had the wheelwells opened up near the bottoms for better clearance with the taller tires.

Nice rig, some of us get out there on vacation most of us are from the Valley.I think there is a group planning atrip there with their scale trucks. I'm sure they'd welcome you to join in keep looking in this section.

Thanks Jeeper, there are about a half a dozen or so of us local guys and I may well be the only one who doesn't have a scale rig well, not yet anyway! We have done quite a bit of exploring and found some excellent spots for crawling as well as trail running at Devils Lake as well as a couple of other spots near by.

Hopefully you guys have been getting out and giving those trails a good beat-down. My truck still adorns the workbench.

Did make some good progress, though. Got the body trimmed and set down on it's mounts, got the suspension links as sorted out as they're going to get, wheels are back on, too. Best part of that day was that the body sits juuust high enough that the body's bumpers clear the chassis, so I was able to mount my Yeah Racing LEDs in the front and rear chassis ties/bumper whatchamajiggers. Four super bright whiteys pointed forward, and two super bright reds facing the rear. Those I'll just plug into an empty slot on the receiver and let the BEC power the Rx, servo, and lights.

Also got down to the LHS and got a Sidewinder Micro ordered for it. Not sure how hot them things get, but with a 35 turn, 14/87 gears and 1.9 wheels, I think it'll be okay for a while. Also went with Castle's Castle Link Quick Connect (glorified Y-harness), so I can pull the red on the harness, but still have a port for programming the ESC without having to tear into the electronics box each time. Once those come in, it's just a matter of installing the electronics, figuring out where to put my battery, and painting up the body. Yup, should be ready just in time for next spring! :lmao:

Well, Chuck and I managed to knock some cobwebs off of our comp rigs last weekend. We went down to Illinois for one of their local comps. They had a good turnout, at least a dozen guys. It was held at a nice dam area, it was fun and challenging. I managed to pull off a win in the 2.2 pro class8)

A week off of work and trapped inside by the heat :evil:. Oh well, at least I'm making a lil more progress on the Yota....updated pics of the completed dash, lenses and silvered HL buckets. I also fabbed up some "lift blocks". Lights coming soon "thumbsup".

Here's another little rig that's ready to roll (minus working lights yet). The winch is running off a mini esc I had laying around, so far so good. The lightbar and toolbox came out pretty good I think 8).
