I'd have to say that age probably had more to do with it than anything. Any mature adult who has worked with or partied around a 20 yr old kid can attest to that.

Yep, I just turned 21 so I'm in that age group and alot of them have terrible judgment. I feel like I have better judgment than most people my age.

I have zero respect for any pro drivers that intentionally get high via drugs or alcohol prior to any racing events.

What if Ward had killed a fellow driver in that race?

All reports did say the levels were high enough to impair judgement. So it seems like he did it that day or before the race. But everyone has a different tolerance level. So even though medics think it was enough to impair judgement, maybe with Ward it wasn't enough to do anything to his judgement. These things we will never know.

If he had calmly wandered into oncoming track traffic I would consider that simply "impaired judgement", but he was pissed and aggressive, which are things not normally associated with marijuana use. His cocky bad ass attitude got him killed more than anything.

Having said all that...I do know someone who reacts opposite of 99% of the planet when it comes to drugs/alcohol. People who get wound up/aggressive on weed do exist but are rare.
