Finally got these bodies to the US

Gonna model it after this one

Here are the bodies.

I grabbed several as i can foresee a very limited supply of these

Got my scx2 a while back.

Mocked up on the chassis. Stocl bumpers need to be trimmed off the body to fit the JCR bumpers

Gonna use locked up for the wheels.

But i think im going to get some 2.2s to stretch over 1.9s to get the 17" look

it's gonna look Good but why not use a 1.9 rim that looks like a 17 . those wheels and tires on the jeep in the pics are not 17 lol they are more like 20s and really looks out of proportion on that jeep.

They are 17s. I asked the owner of the jeep what size they were, 1.9s would look too small with the rubbers that gotta fill those big wheel wells

So much going on in my shop today

Well heres some pix you've been waiting for!

Still have not gotten the 2.2s but decided to throw on some ssds to see what itd look like...

Might have to get a new bumper, the scx2 one does not fit as well as i thought

So many projects at once..

So i decided to get the bumper situation figured out

I really like the scx2 bumper because it is the same style as the one im going for

The bumper hugs the grill and headlights very tight on the wj version

But the angles are not correct on the scx2 bumper

So! Naturally; I decided to modify the stock one.

I started with this

Then made some cuts to fold in the bumper sides to the correct angle

Here they are folded in and welded shut

I did the same to the ends to bring them out, and filled in the gap with some styrene so it will retain its strength

NOW it hugs the grill nicely[emoji106]

(Excuse the dirty headlights) lol

Finished with some spray on bedliner to get rid of that plastic look

Im happy with it

2.2s are in!!

Beadlocks and one widener for each wheel

1.9 stretched on these 2.2s

I really dig the look of the wheels...

However i think i need a skinnier tire, and probably a few mm shorter.

I will have to look around...

Any suggestions?
