| My 66 Mustang
I guess I could post a couple picture of my first car It started out as a family project but I was the only one who showed any interest in it. Original 200 six car but the engine didnt last long with a 16 year old gear head behind the wheel, blew the ring lands out of the #5 piston (still have the piston on my shelf). So in went a 302 out of a 72 maverick which didnt last long before the oil pressure dropped and stuff went byby. Fast forward a few years and engines later and I finally managed to save up enough to buy a Ford Racing 347 stroker in 06. Well after several summers of burnout contests and drag racing I blew a head gasket last summer. So here goes the engine rebuild Parts are starting to show up :grin2: Also got my headers sandblasted and ready for the ceramic cote Last edited by AkFordfan; 04-27-2013 at 10:08 PM. |

Started putting the engine together yesterday until I ran into a snag:wall: Got the cam, lifters, crank and timing chain set installed, went to start putting rings on the pistons and the oil control rings weren't even remotely close to being right. Got some more parts today, and also found out my newly powder coated timing cover wont work with the new pan because of the dipstick :i3: Got one header ceramic coated |

very sharp. Seeing the engine build reminds me of the build my dad and I have been working on. An 86 Cougar with full chevy drivetrain. SBC 355 built by Beyers Race Engines hooked to a built TH350 into an 8.8 posi. Looking to get into the mid 11s with it but havent track tested it yet. How do those tires hook? What numbers are you getting in the quarter? |

Very sweet!!! I too have a 66 that Ive had since I was 13 (now 29). Its a lowly six banger coupe...with a small turbo, 5 speed and an 8.8 rear end. I slowly but surely mess with the car and love seein others doin the same!!! Matt |

Nice mustang. I miss the drag strip up there. My family was close to Clarance Lemay. He ran his top alcohol dragster up there for many years and we would go watch him race while we were living up there. I graduated from Chugiak High school in 1992
