Default K2 Tubed SCX10 LWB Sami

Well this will be my first 1.55 scaler. I've been putting together the stuff to build this thing for a little while now. I'm building this to use in the Hardcore Class in September at the Scale Comp scale4x4 is putting on in Little Rock City, AL. Some of you will recognize it because K2 built it and had a thread on it in the SCX10 section. He hooked it up! But you know that some things need to be changed as I have had this build thought out for a while. The body I have on it now is my "mock up" body as I have 2 other new bodies that I'll be doing up for it. My main body will be Orange with a black hood. I have some pics of it as it is now and the few things I've done so far.
Here's some specs:
SCX10 Chassis with K2 Tube work
Axial Trail Ranger Bodies
RC4WD D40 Axles (Will get the Quadratrec looking Diff covers soon!)
Axial Tranny with HR Gears, Gear Jelly, 93T Delrin Spur and DNA Motor Plate
Tekin FXR with 35T Motor and 16T Pinion (May Change)
Proline Powerstroke Scale Shocks
Axial Links (Blue now but may switch)
RC4WD 1.55 Stompers on 1.55 Black Steelies
Flat Iron Spare
COMD CLAW Winch
3S Lipos
Spektrum Rx
Interior and Scale Goodies

Here it as as of right now. The body is painted Pactra Pearl White backed with Pactra Metallic Green backed with Tamiya Black. Here's some pics of it painted and mounted and then with stickers. I used a bunch of odd and end stickers for it. The grill and headlights are from some Chevy Sticker sheet and the others are some I had lying around.

It looks kida tall in the pics. Is there a way to drop it about 1/4 or so?

Yea I know. I'm planning on dropping it a little by using shorter rod ends or by limiting the shocks on the inside. It has a good bit of travel right now so I'm trying not to have to take them apart. I also want to get some more weight on it so maybe the suspension will settle a little.

Here's what I did to the tranny:
1. I took it apart and removed the stock gears
2. I took the HR Hard Anodized Aluminum gears and cleaned them thoroughly
with brake cleaner
3. I dried the gears off and coated them really well with Rocksmith's Gearjelly
4. I replaced the rear output with the Stage3Racing Chromoly Output
4. Greased up all the bearings and shafts and bolted everything back together
5. Installed the DNA Motor Plate
6. Installed the Robinson Racing White Delrin 93T Spur
7. Mounted it in Chassis

Shoot this thing was awesome the way you had it! I appreciate the compliment. This is only the beginning though, plenty more to come!

Thanks guys!

Well I lowered the suspension by inserting fuel tubing limiters inside the shocks. I used 7 mm spacers in the rear and 5 mm up front. I'd rather have the rear sag a little rather than sit higher.
I installed some of the Scaler Cups that JeepinDoug makes. These things are sweet! I drilled out the hole the shaft passes thru with a 9/64" bit like he says in his thread so it fits. In another pic you'll see how the spring threads onto the cup to "capture" it. You can see the size difference in one of the pics. The 4th pic shows the rear lowered to show the difference in height before and after.

Started on the bed tonight. Made some of the floor and the fuel cell. Here's what it looks like before paint.

Here's the Bed and the Fuel Cell finished. I didn't want to cover up a lot of the tube work so the bed is basically a floor and a support around the shock towers. The Fuel Cell sits in the bed up close to the cab where I made a little extra support. I really wanted to have wheel wells but plenty of rock buggies have exposed tube work in the bed area. The fuel cell is basically finished except for the detailing.

Here's the fuel cell with filler neck and cap. I've also started moding the rear shock towers so I can use the full length of the shock for more travel but keep the same ride height. I made an aluminum plate extension for mounting the shocks to the tower. It doesn't really look that good but it's functional and until I can braze my own tubed shock towers this will have to do.

Here it is the way I intended to run it. I wanted to keep as much of the body as I could w/o covering up too much of the tube work. Basically same as the green body except I kept the roof and doors. I getting used to the color. It didn't really come out the way I thought it would. It's Tamiya Translucent Orange backed with Silver then black. I think I put too much orange on then the black darkened it. It's more burnt orange instead of bright metallic orange like I thought it would be. Oh well I've still got another body I can experiment with.

Looking good Ronzo. I am thinking about the Stompers for my Honcho to XJ coversion. I would also like to try the Two-Faced tires. I just wish they had them in 1.55s.

Thanks! The Stompers are really nice tires so I think you'll be happy with them and they should look sweet under the Cherokee. I want the 2 Faces too. I'll have a set eventually and may even try them on this rig.

Here it is with some stickers and the hood painted flat black. I think it came out so well that I might do the roof too. I used some 600 grit, 400 grit and some 000 steel wool to dull the lexan then I painted the area with Krylon fusion satin black for plastics then a couple of coats of Krylon fusion flat black. I couldn't find any flat black for plastics so that's why I did all that. I also hooked up the steering stabilizer and some hubs from Cad2Chrome.
