| Fastlane Rubicon Buggy
Picked this little bugger up from Toy R Us. its the Fastlane RC Jeep rock crawler. has very scale axles, fourlink, great body and chassis, ok tires. Extremely good deal IMO. $40!!!! 100 times better than Nylints. stock electronics are quite crappy however. once hobby grade elec are swapped in, it becomes quite impressive. downside, completly plastic drivetrain. more to come! videos loading now |

no its not stock in the vid. the steering is terrible stock. but i simply threw in some Venom mini giant electronics couple servo mounts up front for a standard servo and bam. i am very impressed out of the box. mods will be minimum right now but deffinitely go a little tweaking to do. can't wait to see what some people will do to them.

Are the available online anywhere? The nearest ToysRUs is like 95 miles away. I've searched and can't find them online other than reviews of them.

Nice video, I like the sound track. By the way what electronics did you upgrade it to?

OK..this thing is for real. I also just stuck some hobby-grade elecs in, and weighted the front wheels and beat the crap out of this thing for a pack and NO FAILURES! I had a wheel wedged in a crevice a few times, and this thing just slowly powered out of an otherwise hex-stripping, driveline-popping situation...Of course, it's only a matter of time till something shreds, and when it does, I've still got a sweet body, capable 1.5 "flat-irons", and a set of diff-covers for my MRC axles.... ...all for $40 .. |

Another thing I noticed when I was tearing it apart to do mods: the plastic is not at all brittle...when I was cutting with the dremel, I found that any material left hanging had to be re-cut or twisted off, it would not snap off...I saw this as I pushed on the links, to make them bow a bit..they would bend to the pressure, but did not want to snap or crack..that makes me a little more confident that parts like knuckles and hubs will take some abuse before failing... So this has an 8mm hex right? Isn't there another vehicle with that size hex, mini lst maybe? It would be nice to find a 12mm solution for this thing.
