You are definitely making it EXTREMELY hard to pick which direction to go with my TJ build with this one and the soft top. Keep it up =)

I will admit all day long that putting Axial axles under the soft top was a breeze, the K44's weren't difficult at all but I'm so used to the Axials that I had to rethink it a bit. | |

Still not done yet...but close. The electronics are in, and it runs. The HPI GRU sounds like its wound up tight as hell, but everything runs smooth. The drivetrain without the GRU spins freely and noise free, so its the GRU for sure. Its greased like a stuck pig but still makes a 'tight mesh' kinda sound. Hey E, is that normal, or should I take apart the GRU again? I think I found a name for this rig... Anyways |

Hey whats up! Its not supposed to sound like its binded up but i can tell you that it wont budge when there is no power to it! Not like a normal SCX10 where you can roll it back and forth with a little force even with a motor hooked up, this one will not budge! But if its powered it should make a sweet sounding low gear noise. Pretty quiet if you ask me. I really wish i did the front bumper more justice but i have to hand it to you! You took hold of the project and finished it just exactly how i would have done it. Simple and clean! You should post it up on scale builders guild! Wanna know something funny? I Just traded someone some stuff for a newbright TJ body............. To be continued..................................... |

Thanks guys I checked a few videos and googled about the noise that the HPI GRU makes, mine seems normal. So everything is good. E, I cant wait to see what you have up your sleeve with that TJ. Its gotta be better than this one for sure! I tossed on the 2nd set of wheels and tires for this rig. The walker evens and TSL's will be used as well. I was thinking about siping the middle chevron tread on the TSL's but I have to agree with what Tommy R said in his yellow TJ thread ( i believe) , that the TSL loses its street look once the center treads are siped. Awesome jeep no doubt! I hope to one day create something that amazing... Just one detail I noticed, if i can offer constructive advice? The doors. Those are full steel doors and should have a window frame. A small thing to be sure, and since I don't know exactly how acurate you were trying to be, well... thought i'd mention it. I'll shut up now. Seriously awesome rig tho! |
