Default Chevy Blazer

I've not done a build thread before due to my limited computer skills, so bare with me. This build was inspired by Rivas Concept Chevy Desert racer, I watched that vid a hundred times and thought "what a COOL truck...I have to build one". So I started with a basic scx10 JK chassis, Proline Blazer body, 1.55 Growlers on Void wheels. A few pics of what I've done so far...

Beefed up the tranny, RR gears and slipper, hd steel diffs, cvd's and high clearance knuckles for better steering.

I built the rear bolt-on cage with 3/16 brake line, silver soldered. I really like the steering mod, and with the overdrive gearing it steers way better, not as much push in the corners.

thnk you, this is a very nicely "stockish" painted body. would really look good with an interior in it, as got that topless, blazer look to it.

vey nice work.

Yes, I agree, working on the interior, I was considering a wraith interior, but have decided to hack up a Dingo body for the interior. It's starting to come together, I'll post it when it's in, going to cut out the side windows, install window netting. Also working on a visor/ light bar, and Griffon radiator for the rear cage, just trying to work with parts I have on hand. Lots of ideas for this build, stay tuned

Your build looks great. Like the tube work, very well thought out clean and functional.

Thks for the kind comments, got the interior installed, temporary driver till I find something more suitable, also installed floor pan and fender wells, moved the electronics up front, and have a more scale fuel cell for the cage. Going to make a cover for the lower rear of the cage to close off under the interior, and I found some more scale goodies

what is your heat source with the silver solder? I have been considering moving this direction from brazing.

I'm using a Benzomatic mapp gas kit that i bought at the hardware store, trigger ign torch works fine, I tried brazing, but too much work cleaning the up the braze, so switched to Wolverine 45 silver solder. More expensive, but a much cleaner joint, and easier to join different materials. Just using basic hand tools, vice-grips and a box end wrench for bending, basic eyeball engineering, it's far from perfect, but I can live with it . This has been a LONG learning experience...but fun.

Picked up a few parts from a local forum, RE hubs and air cleaner, really happy with results. The mirrors are from the Axial exterior parts tree...ya..i know...I'll rub them off on a rock in the first 5 mins...but it will look COOL for 5 mins...
