Default noob Rover build

I got my gwagon from The Scale Shop RTR and have been loving it. Seeing how it all works got me motivated to actually BUILD one myself. So I decided to give it a try.

I've only just started collecting the various parts so this build is going to take a bit of time but thought I'd get the spy shots up.

Specs:
New Bright 1:10 Range Rover Sport body (inspired by Jaynen's build).
The Scale Shop custom chassis (10.3" wb, a hair shorter than my gwagon)
TLT axles
pede or ax10 tranny
[edit: novak fifty-five 55t motor]
tekin rebel 2 or moped v16r esc
hitec or towerpro servo
70mm Team Associated buggy shocks (or TLT's turned down, droop)
HPI 5-spoke black wheels (may paint gunmetal)
Trail Docs

Opened up the wheel wells and got the body painted so far. Its gonna be another basher so not concerned about too much detail. wb is similar enough to the gwagon that I could mock it up on the gwagon chassis. This is about the ride height I'm going for.

My 5yo is looking forward to having a rig to run with me. Gonna be fun.

Too bad nobody would actually do that to a real Rover.

Its going to take a few weeks to get the chassis. Getting all the other stuff right now until then.

no real update as I just got the last batch of parts in but chassis is still at least a week out. nothing to do just yet but I did do a bit of work on the body. painted grille and outline of lights gunmetal grey, made d-rings, painted details on body, added front brush guard. still going to add roof rack and rear ladder as well as a few scale accessories.

I've got tlt axles, locked and ready to go. TLT shocks turned down and ready, 10-spoke wheels and trail docs, 55t Novak motor, pede tranny, hitec high torque servo, CC bec, and the rest of the electronics sitting ready to go as well...

everything but the body will be there...since this is my gwagon chassis...lol...

no, the chassis for the rover build isnt arriving till the end of the month probably. maybe sooner but I'm not counting on it. I have a bunch of small things to do with the parts I do have but can't really start in earnest until I get the chassis. This isnt a jab a Cory either (I know you're reading this). I am patiently waiting for the chassis.

still about a week out on the chassis so I've been working on the body a little bit (and on the gwagon suspension, grrr).

Added a roof rack and bungees (both bought) then made some bungees and LV luggage (rollin in style).

Also made some off road lights for the rack. Took wood dowel buttons (1/2" dia., 1/4" deep with slightly rounded back-perfect for lights), drilled mounting hole in bottom, cut mounting bracket, drilled and installed machine screws for light posts then painted it all black and applied a picture of an off road light to the fronts.

I'm bringing the gwagon tomorrow but will also have the rover body since jaynen wanted to see the new lights in person.
You can try the gwagon if you're interested...
