Default 1.9" XC Mercedes G- Wagon G55 Build

Hey All- I had some spare time this afternoon, and re-built an old Tamiya Touareg XC Chassis I had kickin' around and this is what I came up with...

Tamiya XC CC-01 Chassis
1.9" Trail Dr.'s
Custom Machined aluminum Rims
Random Futaba electronics, that will all be waterproofed

The body's not mounted yet ( I know it needs to be a little lower), I also think I want to do a roofrack with fog-lights... Let me know what you think..

Hey Thanks Bob..!

Well I lowered the body a little, but It may have to go lower ( let me know what ya think..!!) The tires don't rub the body at full stuff, but it still looks a little high to me.... I am also playing around with a few wheel and tire combos too.. You can't go wrong with Hummer rims, and cut and shut Claw Dawgs..!!! .. A scale roof rack may also be on the horizon too..!

It's a little high I agree. But without going droop or limiting the bumper up travel I am not sure how low you can go I don't think it needs to go much lower tho it is looking great.

I really like the look of the hummer rims and the cut and shut claw dawgs.

How tall are cut and shut claw dawgs? Are they hard to make? How do they perform compared to the 1.9 tires out there?

A roof rack with a lightbar would really set it off.

looks good. those wheels and tires look great. the gwagon can go with really aggressive tires and still pull off the look.

thought about a roof rack for mine but I roll it too much, lol...

could go a little lower but as a 1.9 you're going to get tire rub at full flex if you try for a more scale height on the body. period. its not that bad really, the rubbing.

the stickers really add to the look.

Its a nice gwagon you've made.

I will lower it down a little more... The Custom Claw Dawgs are 3.9" high, and they perform very nice..! Firm enough for side hill situations, yet soft enough to conform around rocks. They are a harder compound then lets say RC4WD 1.9" Mudslingers, but WAY softer than stock 1.9" Tamiya BFG's.. They are a nice "In the Middle" comprimise.. I didn't make them, I bought them from someone else on here a while ago.

Hey Thanks !
I added some TSS Rock Rings this afternoon, and Honestly- I think that wheel/ tire combo is dead on too..!!!

I also lowered the body down just a bit, and then I hit the RTI ramp.. Thats a 45 Degree ramp I have... NOT Bad for an XC - solid axle in the rear, and IFS in the front..!!! I made custom "pivoting" upper rear shock mounts, which gives about a 1/2" extra travel on each side, seperate from the actual rear springs compressing ..!!!
