| 3 Hardbody 1.9's at once
So I have 3 builds that I want to complete this summer. With this semester almost complete I started some work and preparation on them. Here are the 3 bodies. The black jeep is a friends who wants me to replicate his 1:1. Plans are: 4 link front and rear X Trail chassis Novak XRS 35T lathe Semi scale appearance Overall just a basher for his first RC, and something that will slightly resemble his 1:1. He has had this body for a long time to do something similar, figured I would help him out The 4 door JK: I love the new 1:1 Jeep JK's. Driving past them everyday at the dealership next to my appartment doesnt help any either . Hopefully this one will for now! Plans: X Trail 1.9 Stompers sanded down Prototype 1.9 beadlocks Prototype transmission and t case pair of 1500 2/3a's TLT axles I am hoping RC4WD makes their new scale shocks in 80mm, they will be perfect for this! I want an overall extreme look, yet still something that you would see on the street. I want the frame rails to be tucked inside the body and a overall low stance. Aiming for an 11" wheelbase too. The FJ Cruiser is an older build that was on here. I will try to find the thread. I always loved the way it looked and when I saw it parted out on ebay I had to grab the body and frame. Sadly the back is messed up and it needs some fresh paint. Not sure what the plans are yet I just want to bring it back to life! |

Update on the JK Mostly mock up stuff. Seeing how the frame fits and what it looks like with 1.9's. The X Trail is a perfect fit for it. You can see I have about 1.25" between the floor and skid to play with. Should be interesting... Found a good spot for the 2 1500 packs too. |

Started getting some axles ready. I had two used sets that I have picked up recently and they needed some maintenance. |

The FJ body is awesome! The more I look at it the more ideas I get. I am thinking of just cutting the tailgate off since its already cracked. Good idea? The straightened bruiser frame is a perfect fit too. |

Now onto the black jeep. Took all the stickers off and worked my ass off to get all the residue off as well. It came out pretty nice. I doubt I will even have to paint it! Here is a quick mock up with some 1.9's under it. |

And some decent progress on the chassis/skid. I wanted to have room to use a pede tranny for a big boat-side style skid solves that problem. Made some brackets off the X Trail to bolt the skid onto. This keeps the screws off the bottom of the skid for a smoother surface. |
