Default bmuzz1's New Trail Trailer Build

Just started on a new trail trailer for my FJ Cruiser build. My new FJ Cruiser build
I will be making a receiver hitch for my FJ as well with a removable ball hitch. I am planning on using a throttle linkage for the tongue on the trailer so that it will securly hold the ball and swivel while wheeling. I noticed that there is another trailer build (Chaman) where the same thing was done...I guess great minds think a like. I am using TCS X-Trail leaf springs for it as well.

This is my first time brazing anything and I had to start with brass tubing...what a pain in the ars! I hope that it is easier to braze brakeline tubing! It's a little messy but the joints seem to be strong enough.

I am not sure if I will try to find a plastic tray for the box or if I will try to
make one out of styrene?

Did a little more brazing this morning. I am going to start on the box portion of the trailer now...couldn't find anything that would work so I am going to make one.

It's funny because I was looking at the linkage on my sandrail when I got the idea and then I saw this cool build that caught my eye (the baja on the trailer) and saw that you had done the same thing...Here I thought I was going to be the first!

LOL! A friend of mine gave those a long time ago. These are linkages for some industrial machinery. Really strong, I believe them to be stainless steel.

Got a little further on the trailer this afternoon. Here's a few more pics of mock-up. I am going to paint the frame black and the box yellow to match my FJ.

Its part of a heavy machinery equipment...I think from those cooling units used by trucks. Its a work of art indeed.....quite sturdy, think its stainless steel. Thanks!

Well the trailer is pretty much done as of a few minutes ago. I had to pass on using the throttle linkage for the time being because I was running out of time...I had to have it ready for the Northern AZ camp and crawl. I will post pics in just a few...waiting on the camera to finish charging.
