Default Tonights Work

okay so today i picked up a 645mg and made a winch(thanks to RCC!) took some doing to mount it in the front useing the stock mount. for the shifting i moved the servo over and used 2 1/16 shims on each screw so that the servo arm would clear the frame then i flipped the servo arm 180deg. and moved the ball back to the most inward hole trimming the excess of the arm off so it clears everything else around it. then ALOT of adjusting on exact placement to get all 3 gears to work...... thank god for my DX7!

i also got some of the detail work painted still working on some of the tail/side marker lenses. i painted the inside of the bed with real rubberized Truck Bed liner (rhino liner spray) still have to paint the nerf bars black to match the rest of the bumpers.still need to put on the metal transfers.(the liner really works i tested it a bit and even on hard stops the rubber keeps my igloo cooler in place lol!)

and i managed to get the superbright headlights installed.(tail lights/covers tomarrow)

this thing is getting kind of complicated on the remote with the front/rear light on/off's(aux 2 / Gear) and the right hand stick(aileron) setup for winch.

my idle up 3 way toggle switch controls the 1-3 gears.

and the left stick fully controls the truck.

heres the pics.

Default Trip to the woods.

took it out to the folf course for a run tonight.

started out pretty smooth had to bring out the winch a couple times i think i may need an external BEC cause i had some power loss problems today i think they might have been servo/draw related.

heres the pics

Default Body Drop and Crawling...

so last week i took the truck out to a crawler comp and messed around and figured out the tranny had to go up and the body had to come down. so i got the body drop done and i orderd some stampede shafts for moveing the tranny around.

heres some pics of me running the rocks with the body drop at McHugh creek Alaska.

the body paint deffinatly isnt showroom floor quality anymore welcome to rockrash lol!

i recently did some work on this rig cause the articulation was horrible with ANY type of leaf springs. maybe thats a scaler but it sucked.... so heres a proto type of my attempt at a panhard bar type rear suspension with bent axial links and a shortend straight axial link for the panhard bar... io need to fab up a harder upper link mount but other then that it works like intended... no axle steer and no axle slop "back and fourth" and i gained about 2 1/2 inches of articulation.

Default a few updates

Well its been a while since i posted in here damn.

i got in the mood to redo the hilux today since somehow ive managed to repair eveything i own to fully working condition except a couple projects that are ongoing.

so this is what i did in my spare time.

Hilift Jack on the hood.
Handcut toyota decal and other misc stickers.
I've recently rbuilt all the shocks/axles/tranny/etc added aluminum knuckles
Homade tranny lift/mount.
3racing winch
Stripped all the colors off the links/rear panhard/3link shocks added some rustic effects to the shocks.
Shock boots.
Snorkle out of a papermate pen and a sharpie marker top.(still needs paint)
did i mention stickers?lol.
Fenderflares out of black tape used ca on the edges to keep it from peeling so easy. silver handpainted screw heads on the flares lol!

Oh my goodness, when I first looked at the first picture I though you were showing off your 1:1 rig. My jaw hasn't dropped like that in ages. I would tell you how much I love the look of just one of your rigs, but both are just so cool! Im still a little lost for words.
