Default Scout body on my X-Trail

I've had my X-Trail chassis for a few months now, and decided I would put a new Scout body on it.

The truck with the old body can be found here.

The goal for this build, is to keep it looking like a stock Scout. When I have time, I hope to lower the body, put smaller tires on it, and maybe try to find a way to mount up some leaf springs.

So the chassis is already built, and electronics installed.

X-Trail Chassis with the stock AX-10 parts.
HiTech MG 645 servo
45 Turn Intergy motor
Mamba Max ESC
Elite 1500, 8 cell battery pack
DuraTrax Evader shocks with soft springs.
Rock Stompers tires on HPI stock car wheels

Things that will be added, heavey duty lockers, and straight axle adaptors. As time permits, I will be adding headlights, and taillights.

Anyway, to the build.

Here's the body mounted up on the chassis.

I wanted to make the bumpers and a roof rack look similar to the ones on the stock Scout, so I just cut a piece of square tubing in half for the bumpers, and bent up some 1/8th inch square stock and mig welded it for the roof rack.

Here's the first weld for the roof rack.

I decided to go with camel yellow.

I got phase one done on the Scout, so I took it out this morning for a test run.

The emblems aren't decals, they are Scout bling from scaleoffroad.

I still need to put some headlights and taillights in.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
