I love the missing light idea! Let me get this sucker painted and see what she looks like. I think I am going to go the hilux route with the lights, and I can fab up a bezel no prob. I will post some pics of the wheels that are going on it. As far as the tranny, it is smack dab against the hood right now so no raising will happen:-(. I have a few ideas though to get the tranny higher. Will keep you posted.

thats a huge tranny, same deal w/mine almost makes ya wanna just toss a r2 in there

This body is amazing! if only you could just dip it in some sort of resin to make it super durable... ahh in a perfect world... anyways AWESOME job with the styrene, truley amazing! "thumbsup"

Ordered the lenses and buckets, still waiting on the hummer wheels to arrive. I am going to have to paint it at work (to cold in home garage) so I will post some more pics soon....

scale808 11-18-2008 01:45 AM

cant wait to see the finished product

Dude, i cant stop lookin at this build...this is one of the best styrene work i've seen yet..."thumbsup"

F-150Highlift 11-19-2008 05:38 PM

Hummer wheels arrived and are I already got them modified to look like steel wheels that came on a stock willys. They look good. Taking the body to work with me tomorrow to paint it's first coat. Then I'm putting the second color on and then the aging process starts. Will get some pics up when I get new batteries for the camera.

sick:shock: you are seriously talented. how big are your lenses for the lights? I might have something that would work for it"thumbsup"

obijuan 11-19-2008 09:13 PM

wow that is ridiculously impressive work. bravo!
i hate to ask this but please tell me youre losing the highlift drivetrain for something a little less gaudy?

ColquittCustom405 11-19-2008 10:11 PM

I agree... you need to PTO that thing. I'm surprised. The drawing in the first post made me doubt you. I was like; "Yeah right....there's no way it will look like that" I was wrong. Sorry. Looks like the real deal to me.:)

I totally understand, when I showed the drawing to my girlfriend, she just looked at me like "yeah right". I am planning on the willys wagon next and I drew up some scale drawings of the 70's jeep pickups with the wagoneer front end. I am going to build these as well.

You're gonna build one of the old Gladiator trucks! Sweet.

F-150Highlift 11-20-2008 06:46 PM

Yep, the gladiator truck is sweet and my step dad owns the 1:1 version so doing this one will be easy.

Harley 11-20-2008 07:03 PM

It appears that the left front fender is about a 3/32" too high. I suggest starting over on the front end to fix the problem.

But seriously, even with all the time in the world I wouldn't be able to come up with something like that. Amazing job!

F-150Highlift 11-20-2008 07:27 PM

Hah hah, it is very close, too close to measure. I need some damn batteries to show you guys new pics! Will get some posted soon.

seven.two 11-21-2008 05:35 PM
