Default Jeep Wrangler

Hi,

I couldn't resist and bought myself a Jeep body.

The frame is from rc-laserparts (german company) and is specially designed for the Wrangler body.

I use RC4WD T-Rex axles. But they are a little wide with the beadlocks I plan to use. So I cut off the fenders and went for a comp style (sort of).

I'm still waiting for some parts to arrive. But they should be here tomorrow so I can continue the build.

This is how it will look.

It is a bit tall, but I've got another set of leafs here which are a little lower.
I will decide which one I will use when I get the parts to intall the axles.

@benoj

The frame is 89€ for an undrilled and untapped kit. That's about 125$.

Some updates on the Jeep.

Since I'm still waiting for some parts to show up, I can't do anything with the chassis right now.

So I painted the body. The paintjob is far from perfect. But I'm happy with how it turned out.

I also tried another wheel/tire combo. I think it looks better like this. I'm still gonna paint the wheels black.

I'm not sure with the light-bar. Should I mount it or not?

So long...

I love the white wheels. I just saw a jeep going down the road the other day with similar paint and it had white wheels. Those wheels make it look so real.

Today, after three weeks of shipping, my parts arrived to mount the axles to the chassis.

I've used High-Lift springs which bring a little more height.
I mounted the Tomahawks which I had on my Hilux to look how it would be like. And I rather like them, so I'll stick with them.

I also painted some of the details on the body and added some decals.

The drive shafts are still in the mail. But with some luck, I'll be able to go for the first drive on the week end.

The obligatory flex shot. It doesn't flex that much right now but when it's ready to drive it'll be much heavier and flex better.

Tomorrow, I'll be making some bumpers.

That's it for today.

Thanks

But I'm not very happy with the width of the axles. I'm probably going to mount some TLT axles under it because the T-Rex 60's are a little wide.

Love the scale looking chassis and the leafs, it looks a lot like a '95 YJ we had in my old Jeep Club. Nice work

Thanks guys

Today I've finished the front bumper and the front body holder.
The bumper is made from steel and bolted right to the chassis itself. It's all brazed together and pretty sturdy stuff.

That's it for today.

Finished the rear bumper and the sliders today.

I put some lights in as well.

The tail lights are 5mm LED's with a short piece of brass tube glued on.

I also installed a nice antenna. I quite liked the way it looks. rubiredunlmtd's instruction on how to make one gave me the idea. So I thought I'de give it a try.
home made whip antenna

Tomorrow I'm gonna go for the first test drive.
