Default the truggy SCX10

Well i'm building a truggy, I always like the way they look
Heres what it will have when i'm done.

Radio: DX3R
Tx: sr3100
Motor: 35t / 14 pinion
ESC: fxr
Servo: HS5645mg
Winch: 3 racing
Battery: MaxAmps 2S 2000mah lipo
Tamiya light kit
Paint: Briar brown w/ black hood

all 3/16 brake line

I used some welding rod for the alligator clamps to bend it around the frame. worked out pretty good for those tight spots.

I was trying to figure a nice way to mount the body without drilling any holes but yet strong. Rhett314 came up with solid mounts in the back of the cab. turned out pretty good
I drop the cab straight to get past the spur gear, then tilt the hood, once the rear mounts are going in, the front sits on a velcro tab.

still have more to do, i thought i would see how the gas can and hi-lift look in back I'll have more done next weekend to post

Looking good. Need to hurry up and get it running. Can't wait to do some crawling and see how this thing does.

Sweet! Was thinking about doing the same kind of rear end on my build. Keep it up. Got any plans or color?

Nice truck...I like the color. You did a great job with the approach and departure angles too. Looking forward to seeing the stinger on it.

finished my bumper a while back, & forgot to update my build thread

The only thing left, is the steering drag link & tie rod.
the servo mount is in the middle of the chassis, i just forgot to take pics of it. I have just enough delrin rod to make rear bent links for it.
thanks for all the comments, & tips

the way i have it mounted in the rear. you have to put one rear post in first (body at an angle), then set it down past the spur gear screw, by this point the front is down on the hood (not straight yet), then slid into the other rear body post (while the hood is still making contact with the front mount)......the velcro would have grabed before the front of the truck was centered

If i cut both rear mounts down a little, so it drops straight down, i might be able to get away with it, but i wanted enough length in the rear of the cab (for big roll overs)

I like how you designed and built the cage work to bolt to the frame. I have never been a fan of brazing it to the frame, IMO if you do then your stuck with it forever. Looks great.

Looking good Dewayne. That front bumper turned out nice. Let me know when you are ready to put some scratches on it.

got all the lights on it & a couple rock lights from Axial parts, thanks to someone on here, that came up with the idea (can't remember who?)
ran 2 battery packs threw it, had a blast
here are a few picks

rock lights

i forgot to braze a small loop for the hook on the winch
I have a plate of sheet metal that i cut for the front stinger (looks like the Honchos front) it will hide the servo also, next time i bring it in for repairs i will put that in

a little top heavy but not bad, it's worth it though, just add more weights in the wheels

thanks for all the comments

Very nice Lux build

Was interested in the way you mounted the cab. I've built 6 or 7 hiluxes and the only way i've done it is mounting the cab using 2 screw holes under the doors. Bit of a pain but still looking for a better way without making it too obvious.

Tubework looks very clean, nice job bud.
