sorry for skipping your post.

I have re-thought this and I'm almost 100% certain that this Heep will never die. I might have a few ideas floating around for it.

Give Szczerba a break. He just went through a servo and bought another one at the Hobbytown in Vegas so he may have been a little trigger happy.

In other random news the pups are mouth wrestling underneath this computer desk and their salmon breath is fawking rotten.

Hey now what the hells up with the 3 star rating?! are you people crazy? Hell Ashton deserves 5 stars for sticking to this rig as long as he has.

LOL man, my dog loves to bring his toys into the hobby room and play with em while I mess with the rigs...this time around its a disgustingly slobbery raquet ball lol, his spit is all over whatever it touches, which means one of the 5.0s is now cleaner than the other, THANKS WINDSOR!

I've had this stuff sitting around ever since I upgraded to the 8* setup on my berg so I decided to put it to use. VP high steer knuckles & Dlux knuckle weights. I plan on painting them black so they don't stand out so much.

I can fit 2 1/8" weight rings bringing me out to 3.61oz per side. It's a tight fit but it will work! I'm waiting on some 5x12 bearings since these knuckles were bored for a larger bearing by JeepinDoug and then I can run it.

Since I'm going to run the Dlux knuckle weights I no longer have the need for the CKRC axle plates that were hiding weight. Once I got rid of them I needed a longer bumpstop so here they are.

25mm button head
2 rubber shock limiters
1 rc4wd spacer from the bully

While I wait on bearings to show up I have plenty of time to do some bodywork so here we go for the eleventeenth paint job on the Heep. I thrashed to pieces recently so it need some attention and a LOT of ca glue.

I just can't get over the mean stance of this mofo.

My large bearings showed up Wednesday. AvidRC is great and they always ship the same or next day.

As I expected, switching over to the VP high steer knuckles from stock Berg knuckles didn't help my steering angle that much. It did raise my tierod up a bit which is good. I wanted to gain some more steering so I hacked on the drive cups a little. Removing the axle weight plates helped in the clearance department also.

no binds! (video)

EDIT: there is some binding with wheels mounted. I may have taken a little too much off the cups.

That steering angle setup looks like my old berg steering setup! Ie, outside doing some mega turning.

You tested out the front steering on the rocks? Any issues with that knuckle arm getting close to the same plane as the steering link?

Bumps stops are neat.

Thanks Josh.

Too late, she's already sitting in the shop with a few million coats of fresh paint. I just filled with CA. I don't plan on repairing this body forever. The heep won't die- but the body...

I have used it before. There are just some spots where nothing will hold.

I guess it's time for some pics! These are from the third annual STR Food Drive which was a great success.

We had to do some body work on the trail otherwise the YJ body probably wouldn't have made it through out the day. The on the trail paint job was mandatory.

Thanks to Mr Ed for the capturing this, I thought it was pretty funny.

...well after the repair and waiting in line...

3Jeeps captured some great shots as well.
