Well, after beating on this thing in Utah and pulling out a 3rd place finish, I figured it was time for some foam tuning. I've been running the stock Pitbulls foams and they are way too soft. I've known this for a year, but I'm lazy and hate changing foams. When I was ordering new foams for my 2.2 IROKs I decided to get some Crawler Innovations closed cell foams for this one too. Ended up with a huge box of foams and started to sort through them and see which ones fit. The 1.9 mid height were a little too tall (my wheels are larger diameter than some) so I went with the short inners. I used soft outers in front and medium outers in the back. These feel perfect, and I'll be testing them out on the rocks tomorrow. I think they are a little taller too, sweet ! |

Getting there - Tim was cool enough to paint this one for me with the 34D (they match! ). I have the links mocked up with all thread before I get the titanium ones. This thing looks like it will be quite the climber for a class 2. Planning on working on the front axle tomorrow - I have some CreationFab tubes and XR10's. This has been a really fun truck to work on. Any thoughts on paint for the body? Last edited by Highmark; 05-24-2013 at 10:39 PM. |
