| War Pig's new Class 2 Range Rover build
So, this rig just keeps popping up in my plans.....I used it as the inspiration for my Grand Cherokee build, and it's going to influence this one as well. I'm basing this new rig off a Honcho chassis. The rear portion of the frame will be replaced with tubing, and it will have an extensive cage inside of the Range Rover body. There will be a complete interior and the hood will open to reveal the drivetrain and battery. On to the pictures. GCM transfer case, very nice by the way! Hand Bros CMS steering with a 7955. Built Axial trans with aluminum case and 7t puller. The body and temporary tires. I'm having custom wheels made for this rig, and I hope to have some special tires in the next month or so. More to come....... |

Sweet, I'll be watching this one! I have one of the RASTAR 1/10 Range Rovers that I have been looking at maybe doing something very similar to. |

A lot of work has obviously gone into this already, all your tools are already off the pegboard ! Hey, don't you have a Class 3 rig to finish first ? Looks like a good start Tim. I'll be very interested in what you do for all the tube work. |

I got the t-case yesterday, installed it, and fumbled around with mounting the tranny for 2 hours last night. I felt bad about starting on all these rigs before we released the rules, so now I have to make some time...... BTW, my class 3 rig is on the shelf for now...waiting for a couple custom parts to be machined.

I've wanted every rig you've created...since I got to handle your towtruck up at Titlow years ago, when you found that octopus on the beach with Brittany Keep 'em coming!

Yeah, I remember that. It was right before I drove my all steel truck in Puget Sound....I'm such an idiot, didn't even dawn on me that it was salt water .

Well, I borrowed some wheels and tires from a buddy for mockup. I got the transmission mounted (a complete pain). Bent up some stainless skid/boatsides that will also hold the body. I also cut the hood off of the body so I can hinge it for access to the battery wires. Got the suspension links all cut and the front suspension dialed. Here you can see the shocks I'm going to be using. They're Proline rear shocks for a Slash. I've been wanting to try them out since the first time I saw them. I cut the shock mount off of the cap and drilled them out to accept a Traxxas rod end. I also have them internally sprung top and bottom. |

Very cool, I can't wait to see what you come up with for bumpers and I'm liking the boat sides for mounting the body. |
