I love the clean rims with the skinny tires. I'm a big fan of scalers with skinnies

So I just about can put a fork in her.

Only thing I am waiting on is the heavy duty springs to fight back the gravity of the full cage and bumpers.

Once they come, it will be packed up and shipped across the country.

Easy Off oven cleaner... brilliant! I've got to paint my Tangos and was wondering how to get it to natural aluminum. Thanks for posting that tip. Perfect wheel/tire combo too with the polished look. Great looking D90!

This looks sweeeeeeeet. It all came together real nice. You did a great job. I mailed the Yota off today.

How long did you have to soak the wheels. I'm putting a set of these wheels and tires on Dads Old Work Truck to make it a class 1 rig. I might go shinny

Thanks man...

I would soak them for about 3 mins until the cleaner turned black, emptied it and then soaked again for another 3 mins. Dipped them in water and wiped them off. They will have a patena look. I then took a wire wheel on the dremel to get to the raw aluminum. After that to the bench grinder with polishing wheels.

I like the way it looks. The finish is really unique but is not friendly to work with and actually use. If I was going to run it, it would need to be sealed. No matter how much you buff it, there is residue.

This is one of the coolest scale builds I have seen but then again I drive a 1:1 d-90 every day so I am a little biased.

Few ideas to really make it unique to you.
1. The front bumper you have looks like an ARB which does great work for d-90's. Always a fine choice but there is one guy out there that makes a bumper that I think is called a mustache of sorts. I am not sure if the guys web site is still up but they might have pics on d-90.com. This will give you a better approach angle.
2. Your nerf bars? Many of the guys in the texas rovers club are running rock slicers instead of nerf bars and they basically take out the small 2 inch (1:1) sheet metal siding below the door and mount directly to the frame of the rig.
3. A vulnerable spot on the 1:1 off road is the rear quarter pannel. They make a what is called a bumperette that guys use to prevent what is sitting in my garage now. Another web search for those will surely generate many options.

All of these things will enhance your performance and be 100% unique and 100% scale.

Post up some pics of what you are talking about. They may be things that we can show RC4wd for future accessories.

Thanks

The HD Shock Springs showed up yesterday. Installed them last night. Makes a world of difference. If you are adding the cage, bumpers and scale stuff, this is a must. I am running two HD springs on each corner.

So her she is just before her trip to Cali. I hope she makes it in one piece.

I want to thank RC4wd and Racer4Life (Tom) for giving me the opportunity to do this build. Shipping today.
