Talking 1974 Early Bronco Build

I am building this scale Bronco to match pretty close to my 1974 1:1 Bronco.

Let the party begin. Here is what I am starting off with.

The Body:

Rc4wd Front/Rear metal axles:

Using Losi springs for the front and rear leafs.

Rc4wd 3-Peice wheels and Rc4wd Rock Stomper:

Axial SCX Chassis:

Rc4wd 90mm Scale shocks (silver):

Rc4wd 35T brushed motor and regular black R2 Tranny:

More to come:

Default Making Buckets for the Coil Springs.

At first I was using the top mount to fold around frame (first pic) than wanted to change it and make almost exact bucket on the bronco (subsequent pics).

I used 18 gauge sheet metal, cut a T shape, folded in the top sides than brazed it together. This is just the mock up and it looks good. I will cut it down and shape the top end so it is round.

Can you post a pic of your 1:1 Bronco?

I have finished the buckets. These will be the mock ups for now. I will work on setting the rear leafs than building the links.

Any feed back, opinions or suggestions are always welcomed.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys for all the comments. I am open to any suggestions or feedback.

Trying to stick with my 1:1 setup now. So, 2 links up front with panhard bar and leafs in the rear with shocks/shocks up front.

I might after this build is put coils in rear with 4 link and than 3 link the front as I would if I put 60's in the bronco which is my future build.

I just finished mount the rear leafs now. Will get pics up soon. Now making the servo plate for the front and drop track bar for the front panhard than make the drag link and steering rod.

Thanks Skinner.

I am going to do a shock hoop or mount on the inner part of the bucket.

Here is front steering rod. Going to make tabs for the servo than make drag link and pan hard next.

Question Which shock hoop style?

Need your opinion: Which shock hoop looks better?

TOP? Or BOTTOM?

Thanks!

I'd go with the bottom but that's me. Every thing looks really good so far!
