What you think of how it runs now, seeing as you have given it a bit of a spin?

must commend you on a fine build!

Thanks! I think it is a lot different to drive than a CC01. It is very slow though... Full throttle is barely walking speed. Slow walking speed.

That said, once I reached my destination, it was very fun to slowly crawl up and around with. The massive gear reduction actually causes no need for a drag brake.

I need to still do some tuning, will probably relocate the electrics and battery but I'm finally happy with it. It's no comp crawler, but it makes a mighty fine "slow" trail rig!
Cheers,
Skottoman

To sum it up: VEEERY NICE !!!
I really like the UnionJack paint though I'm not a fan of the yellow. But all the fine details more than make up for it. Your wiring is also great, looks very clean. And the pics are taken with the serious intention of making us think it's your 1:1
The lighting is interesting, too, reminds of my plans for the next rig, a Tundra with xxx lights. I have rcmodelex parts too, they are of very good quality indeed. If it's that slow you could switch to the new R3 transmission ?!
What I'd like to know is if the TangoDown wheels will give a narrower track, meaning do they have offset ?

Thanks for the comments!
Here are the specs for the beadlock Tango Down Wheels. It does not appear they have offset, like the non-beadlock do.

Wheel width 20mm/0.78 inches
12mm hex mount
Fit 1.9" size tires
Weight 1.35oz/40grams
Backspacing 0
Full negative offset
Black powder coated
Negative Offset xx inches
Uses M2.5mm X6mm SHCS

I have this truck also and put a Novak 18.5 brushless system in it and ran it on 3s and it was still slow.

I switched t-case from stock (2.65:1) to the newer (.75:1) and increased the wheel speed dramatically. Still has really good torque and is quieter also.

Wow, what an awesome D90!!! What color yellow did you use? I'm shooting for AA Yellow for my D90 kit.

cheers,

That is one sweet looking defender...i love the little dog in the passenger seat and the detail is amazing. The paint job is flawless.

I always wanted to try my hand at a D90 but have been hesitant to do so.

Im starting to give it second thoughts!

Amazing build...I had turned a D90, cut it up and stretched with styrene to make into a D110
