| Project 1.9 Chevy Crew Cab: "Suga Lumps"
So this is a build that I have been thinking about for a long time. My laptop pooped out on me a while back and I lost a lot of research photos. I want to thank our own THX_138 for helping find me the inspiring pic....just from my rambling description. Thanks again. It was bugging the heck out of me. So I am 3/4 the way done with the body so I wanted to star the documentation. This will be a culmination of two rigs. The white Chevy was the true inspiration but I wanted a more stubby rear end. I am very excited about this one. Here are the two rigs that are promoting the build First... Second the rear cage... Now my start.... After a lot of work.... The tf2 is just for something to set it on. I still have details to work on like drains above windows, and door lines, and middle hood crease line. But I am pleased with the results so far. Absolutely no waves in the roof line, something I have noticed is an issue to resolve on doing these crew cabs with two bodies. Mostly everything was filled with styrene and sanded down, very small amount of white putty to smooth hangs out. Last edited by Desert Rc; 09-05-2012 at 12:06 AM. |

Yes I did come across this one looking for that damn pic I couldn't find....it is sick as hell for sure but not quite the direction I'm going. I saved it nonetheless maybe next time. Thanks for the support. Your radiator I have would be perfect though. |

Anybody know where to get the little orange lights for the top of the white chevy...I know I have seen them on people's builds?

Still have to do the rear cab plate and smooth a little more. Also the little pieces under the rain drains.

Judging from the size of the tires in white chevy pic, looks like pitbulls will be perfect. Along with some detailed tamiya black hummer wheels. I have ordered the pits, I tested out a set that looked perfect that I have on my "Fat Bastard" build. I don't want to steal them from that build though. Here is the chassis I had from a honcho. The back of the chassis is just about where i want the tube to stop. With some black wheels. Looking at how I am going to cut the front, kind hesitant. Some fun pics with a black wheel... |

I think the swampers look good as far as height...the pits seem a little small? We'll see. Subscribed...to a chevy build. |

Looks cool already, you're gonna have to re-enact that stormy pic of the 1:1 with your scaler. |

Ah thanks for checking in Bulldog. The Swampers on the white wheels are actually 1.5. The pits are bigger with a fatter look. I will try nt to be lazy and get them on there to show you. They are about he same size as the claws...but the claws are 1.5 also believe it or not. They are just what was on that chassis. I just want to thank all those who have commented. I apprecciate it. I am very excited about this build. Hopefully a bit of tube tomarrow night after work. |
