I hate to disappoint but the tf2 trans is friggin huge in a axial scx10 build. I'm going to have to scrap that sorry guys. I will be running a axial tranny up front with a gcm transfer. Getting started tomorrow. It's my first day off since this shindig has started....looks like I'm behind. |

Hard not to comment on these RC4WD build off rigs. Great pick, like the stance and front end look of this one. |

TUBE CHASSIS BUILT BY NONE OTHER THEN..... MATTZILLA I'm super excited to have him do this one for me. He is going to bring it! That's going to be a nice jeep! Good luck! What about using rc4wd two speed transmission they designed for the scx10? It's more compact and you can get rock racer speeds...just my two cents but I really can't provide any info on this tranny cuz I've never owned one...yet Last edited by railripper; 10-14-2012 at 11:14 PM. |

I notified Tim on Pirate 4x4 that we will be building his rig. Hope he chimes in with some pics and stuff. He seems pretty happy about seeing a scale version and hopes we can get the rigs together some day. He offered to make a scale version of his identical skins he is making for his rig....that is so cool and I am super excited about that! Here is some more progress pics of his....still waiting on mine to get started. Hope to see what Tim is doing with the bumper here soon. |

I'm so torn on the axle choice...like bad. I want to either go with the rc4wd Black Widow axles or completely blinged and loaded vp sxc10 in gunmetal steel and black. Hmmm. Black widows would be scale but I'm worried about time to get links setup right and clearance... Or go with the juicy clean and consistent proven VP avenue? Centered makes life easy too. |

Those are some very tough choices there for sure! And to make it even harder for ya..how about GCM's steel scx10 axles?? I thought those were very nice and beautiful, not to mention very scale imo, I've never used..also I believe you can use existing ax-10 axle gears in them as well which will make them...wait for it...bullet proof! and that's basically all you need to complete the axles. They cost a pretty penny but from your ideas so far, it don't seem to be THAT much of an issue. Good luck with your decision and my vote would be these I just mentioned or VP's. If I was going with a axial style axle it would be Vp. I love GCM parts but I'm not the biggest fan of the axles.
