Default My Little Truggy: Fourwheelin is Magic? F350 truggy for my daughter

My younger daughter recently decided she wanted my truggy to be her rig. Sweet i thought. So she is going to be deciding on visual aspects of the rig. she already picked out paints, base tamiya light blue, accents in light pink. the cage chassis and front bumper will be powder coated light pink to match the accents. She hasn't decided on the accent design yet though so i haven't started painting yet.
its a scx10 chassis with axial running gear. most likely powered by a rooster crawler 35t combo
its running 1.9 steelies with Dick Cepek Mud Country's but i'm thinking about going with either 1.9 Irok or 1.9 pit bull havent decided yet. any input on these would be appreciated.
i've been doing work on adjusting the rear cage to meet the body better. i think its good now. also the last time it was run my brother manages to break off the tamiya bumper so i'm making a new one. its almost finished as well.
I can decide if i want to exo cage the cab. i think it looks good if done right and i am also thinking about preserving the body a bit too. my daughter is actually a very good driver for being 6 but she still is just 6 and doesnt fully understand that if she rolls of flips a hard body that it might break, so she doesnt hold back as much as i would lol, she can still almost keep up with me driving any of the rigs i have except my SC10. gladly though she like the crawling trail running better.
so now for a few pics

thats where it sits right now i'm hoping to have it done in the next couple weeks.

I just got some brake line to work with and just wondering if anyone has tried it.
I think it's called poly armour 3/16" x 25'

I use the straight sections from local autoparts stores. I would think the roll would be a pain to straighten and get right. As for the coating, you just sand it off with a palm sander and there will be metal underneath.

Thanks. I haven't completely worked out how I'll get it straight but I've got a few ideas. If any work I'll be sure to share them.
I don't think I went wrong with the roll though I'm still learning and I'm sure I will be wasting allot with errors. And it only set me back $20 for 25'. I would prefer it straight but this is what to parts store had when I went. If straightening it becomes to much of a problem I'll use this stuff for parts that won't end up straight when finished lol. I'm going to try and get the cage sliders and bumper finished tomorrow so I can drop it off for powder coating this week. And be driving it by next weekend I hope.

I still can't decide on if I want to have the bedsides or not. And I would prefer to not change the metal once it's been coated. I guess I'll sleep on it.

I saw a picture of a straightener made with screen door rollers but I can't seem to find it. The 2nd to last post here has a good idea.

tube bending techniques

Edit: its post #11

A rubber surface applied to both wood pieces helps a lot to grip the tubing as it is forced to roll better.

I picked up the chassis and stuff I had in to be powder coated and made some good progress on this rig today.
It's about 90% ready to crawl. It needs a bit of paint work and a esc batt plug and she'll be done.
My daughter hasn't seen it yet so I hope she likes it.
I am very pleased with the way the coating turned out.
Now pics.

Cool she will love it .you should paint those rings on the rims blue like the body or make them raw finish and paint the rim with the blue . Just a few ideas my step daughter recently has been bugging me to come play trucks so im currently pulling all my un used parts together to finish a timber wolf chassis I had laying around . Love it when the kids get involved

Yeah it was nice to find out my girls were into rc. We like to go on trail runs at least once a week if the weather is nice enough.
I was planing on painting the rings. I was waiting to see how the chassis turned out. I like your idea about painting the wheels too I'll have to think about which would look better. Maybe I'll try painting the spare wheel blue and see how I like it.

Oh and she likes it. When she got he from school and I told her it was done he jumped and ran to go check it out.

Yes. I hate waiting on things in the mail but I love the Christmas like feeling of opening the box full of new toys lol. I'll be building a new rig tf2 and working on my tundra build too.
I'll be working on the suspension and wheels/tires of this rig mostly but it might get a new esc motor combo who knows.
I'll update with pics probly between Thursday and Sunday.

Tell your daughter it looks "cool" from my daughter.

Looking good and there is no way you'll miss it on the trail.

Will do thanks. And I don't think you'll miss it from behind a wall lol. But I let her pick out the colors and she likes it.
Spring break is next week and I hope we can get some trail time and action pics.
