| RC4WD Gelande Planetary Pinion Gear
Hi all, I have one of the first Gelande's I have what I presume is a standard planetary transmission in the vehicle. Problem is after several motor changes I require a replacement pinion gear. All RC4WD seem to be no longer available, I have purchased a 15T 32 pitch and this was way to big, I then purchased a 15T 48 pitch this was a lot closer but still to big.........the one I currently have now just spins on the shaft as it is a push on type, I was looking for one with the little grub screw in it. Assistance in pointing me in the correct direction fully appreciated. |

I think theres a thread here somewhere that talks about this , I think they say its a 48p which is metric pitch. Use the search button and look around. Hope this helps.

I've changed my spur and pinion. I installed a Robinson Racing 87 tooth, 48 pitch spur, and a Robinson Racing 12 tooth pinion, also 48 pitch. If you do this, you will need to install washers on the screws that hold the spur gear on so the screws don't disrupt the clutch material. The Robinson gear is thinner. It has also quieted things down nicely.

Tried the search bar, which gave me the metric result but a 48pitch 15t is still to big. The original pinion is 15t so im now a bit puzzled... The planetary for the gelande has a set size pinion which cannot be altered which then goes to a transfer box.. I really dont want to have to buy a new planetery just for a tiny pinion gear.... Well ive been a tad thick, and rather than count for myself the actual pinion is 11T. That gear calculator is top banana, according to that I require a 11T 48 pitch pinion.... Cheers for help so far, now this seems to be a hard pinion to find in the UK........ |

piggy the only pinion gear that will fit this transmission is a 15T mod .6 metric pinion. if you google metric 15T pinion you will find one. robinson racing makes the best one that I am aware of.
