Default Another yota build.....

Well I didn't want to go through the entire build process as we've all seen that one many times over so I'll start after the mods began. This will be a long build as I'm tearing it down between every mod to do the body work and interior etc. As it's my only fully operational rig at this time I want to try to keep it that way.

It started life as a base tf2 with some bolt on body parts, rubber fender flares, rubber mirrors, a spare tire carrier, also installed Lesu side markers, taillight lenses and some Yota emblems to top it off.

Then I swapped out the leafs for the 3 link front and 4 link rear as well as shocks I went with 90mm EMU shocks for a better ride height and drive, I also flipped the stock rims for a different look, that only lasted for a bit until I got my new wheel tire combo.

One just for fun:

Then I decided to swap out the rims/ tires for better performance and overall appearance, I went with 1.9 locked up 8bolt trail ready wheels with mthead bead-lock rings, installed with all scale hardware and acorn lug nuts along w REC hubs, sitting on cepek fun country tires. I like the looks of these, they are not too large or wide for the rig and still tuck under the flakes for a nice look.

here's the mandatory flex shot:

It's still a work in progress, I'm working on the interior and scale touches to make it better, more to come later as I load up the pics to PB. All thoughts and comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Here's some of the changes I'm making to better the scale looks of it. I'm going with a full inner fender-well and engine bay design. Eventually I will be installing a styrene engine as well to cover the motor up. These are just the beginning designs but with some inspiration and a few tricks from "Noobs" tf2 build it will be a fully concealed engine bay

From the front

With inner fender-well installed and body sitting on chassis

This portion will be sprayed black and I still have a few more support pieces to put in. But it's coming along. I have more pics coming of the rear as well. Thanks for looking

Yeah, I've had my hands on them before but not for any of my builds and they were super nice and detailed so I figd why not splurge on one... It saves me the headache and will look way better than what I could do....

And one more from the front just for a better visual

Since they are so expensive once I get my hilux I'll probably use a bruiser interior until I can afford it.

Sorry can't take credit for the engine, I've modified it to work for me but the manifold setup and water pump was worked up by someone else and has a real fan in it to help cool the motor. It's a pretty slick setup.

I've got plenty more parts I've made to add to it you'll see coming up sometime soon, although I'm still not sold on using it on this rig.... The v8 part just kills it for me, I was originally planning on using it I'm my suburban build where the v8 works...

No major updates just some prep work and paint on the interior parts

Sprayed some primer yesterday, im planning a two tone black and gray or possibly white to match the exterior although I may be repainting it a different color anyway as the white can be a bit boring.

Anyway on to some pics

Primed:

Although I'm horrible at painting I figured I'd still give it a shot just strip it,if it comes out horrible. Here's first coat of the flat gray, decided again the cow colors for now but I can easily change it to match. Its enamel paint so it looks worse than it is because its still wet and hasn't leveled out fully. I'm not sure on the two tone now but after the time it takes for just primer and 1st coat paint I may keep it.. I still have the metal strips to put in the doors and all the dash trim which will separate it a bit better. LMK your thoughts

Also some flat aluminum color on the shifters which I also relocated to better match the 1:1 they were offset to start so I just hand drilled small 3mm holes to center them on the trans tunnel.

Original location to left

New location for shifter in center.

This shows how ill mod the seat to match the 1:1 as well.

Probably shouldn't have handled it with tacky paint but I'm like a kid in a candy store and just can't keep my hands off.....lol Thanks for looking more updates coming soon.

Just a small update more work completed on the interior details. I added color behind some of the trim for more authenticity

I also finished up the standard trim install

Now here's one, I made a lexan cover for the gauges should I keep it or no

More to come later

Keep the lexan gauge cluster for sure its a nice touch that gives it that little extra scale look.

I did keep the cover in, here's a quick shot with it just sitting in place.
