Default Jesse Haines Willies Buggy

Right guys, been thinking about what to build next and I think I've decided I'd like to try and replicate Jesse Haines Willies Buggy. It's going to mean making the grill and bonnet from plasticard ... I'm not great with plasticard but we shall see how I get on!

Here's some pictures of what I hope to end up with but in miniature using SCX10 chassis and running gear.

Been playing around with Styrene and here's my first attempt at a grill ... Soon realised I'd made the wrong one!

A couple of hours later I'd made another, not perfect but we'll see what happens!

One of the cleanest, most functional pro-mods. Keep the stance as close to the 1:1.

I've always really liked the buggy so hope to keep as true to the 1:1 as possible (or my skills allow) I've built a prototype of the cage now so should be able to crack on with the final one soon.

After sorting out a set of the correct tyres for this I kind of fell out of love with the build so it's been sitting dormant in the corner of the workshop! Tonight I decided to try for a mk3 grill (I'm still not good at this styrene business)

I woke up early this morning so decided to crack on with the cage, I've gone for a roof line somewhere between the two but this May still change yet  I really wanted it to be as true to the 1:1 as possible but can help thinking I prefer the lower roof myself too!

Here's some progress pics ...

The current owner of that Pro Mod is a member here and used to compete regularly. Crazy simple and cool rig for sure, great choice and nice job with the beginning of your build.

I've got some Delrin grilles I laser cut back when I was building more. I have extras if you're interested, just pay the postage.
