| Just for fun 1.9 wraith
Decided to build another 1.9 rig rather than building a 2.2 Yeti. This is going to be the wife's trail rig/G6 rig as well as doubling as a spare if someone else wants to try out scaling on a trail run. I've been selected as a monkeyracer wraith chassis rail tester, so i'll be making this a 1.9 trail class rig in both SORCCA and U4RC I will be building a small U4 stadium truck style track in my backyard so this and the scx10 xj will at least be in the same class. As it sits currently Last edited by Richterat83; 10-15-2014 at 06:21 AM. |

Build: Power: MMP on 3s Tekin 13.5 redline Hitec 985mg with CC BEC RC4WD AX2 2speed Axles: Scx10 axles Axial hi-steer aluminum knuckles Axial aluminum C-hubs Spool in the rear end 4 linked front and rear with Axial 50mm links up front and 75mm in rear (followed Brandon's 1.9 wraith build parts list) Shortened T-maxx driveshafts Chassis: Poison spyder wraith cage trimmed for servo mounted axle to clear Traxxas Big Bore aluminum bodies JeepinDoug Mini-T spring cups Losi Mini-T springs RPM Dual stage pistons D-lux rear swaybar Rolling stock: Axial 8 hole beadlocks (drill press VP mod) Axial R35 Treps CI Dueces Wild foams Picked up an AX10 comp crawler for to strip for parts to build the wraith. Axles mounted up (currently on medium losi mini-t springs) Had to remove the front eletronics tray as well as trim off some of the upper bumper support for the servo to clear during suspension cycling as well as drilled and tapped to give support back to the upper bumper mount and full suspension compression Wheels, tires, wraith body panels, and driveshafts should be in the mailbox waiting for me after work today and transmission tomorrow I'll have more pics as the build progresses. I'll be painting the backside of the panels grey and outside probably white, so as it gets trail damage and scratches, they'll show through as an actual scratch with what looks like metal behind the paint. wheels and tires arrived yesterday. They're just mocked up as they're still on the ax10 hexes (I've got traxxas 12mm hubs as well as a pair of stock scx10 hubs to go on later tonight (which should bring the wheels in closer) Put a steering link on, but I need to bend and thread the tie rod yet after work. Also the wheels rub the chassis bascially not allowing any flex while turning. Need to trim but want to see how others have done it before i start hacking the cage. Going to try swapping the Ripsaws i have on the XJ over to see if it clears the chassis better since they're a smaller tire Last edited by Richterat83; 09-19-2014 at 01:09 PM. |

I've been chosen by MonkeyRacer to be a tester for his upcoming Wraith chassis rails. He's having them cut and then 3d printing the adapters shown in red, so should have those here in a few weeks. THis will make the 1.9 wraith fit into 1.9 trail classes in U4 and SORCCA Here's his thread Feeler/Preview - JCAD Scale Tech Wraith Chassis Rails Also, returned the clear wraith body panels as i've decided to go with a Dingo body instead to keep it more street looking than a full on tube buggy Last edited by Richterat83; 09-19-2014 at 09:34 AM. |

Lookin good. If you move the top of your front shocks back to the 3rd hole, they wont have that funny angle |

Front axle looks a bit too far back to my eyes. Mines out a bit further. Off to a good start

Wheelbase is setup using Brandons 1.9 wraith build thread. The plan is to put a dingo body on it and there are a few wraith-okee's i've seen, but i've already got one XJ as the class 1 scaler Last edited by Richterat83; 10-08-2014 at 06:07 AM. |

Got both rigs put back together and running, but i thin ki might have toasted my 8 channel receiver. I can't get it to work now, but i did have a spare 3 channel. So i do still have the 2speed shifting, but no light control or winch (but i have to figure a place for the winch anyways as the servo winch won't fit with the steering servo on the axle.) Still need to clean up wiring as well as get a different eletronics box (I'm usiing the large radio shack project box) and for now, the ESC is just sitting atop it. But oh ma lord is this thing a blast now! Crawls smooth as silk in low but blasts around perfectly in high. BUT, traction roll is a beast. Going to install a rear swaybar this weekend to see if i can't tame the body roll. Also, got tracking confirmation that the JCAD frame rails are en route. |

I've only beat it around the grass backyard and street (and a tree stump) but so far i'm loving it! It's exactly what i was wanting out of my scx10, but a little more stout for bashing (I didn't bash the scx10 as it was my scale replica of my full size. This one i've got no problem doing Ultra4 style trail running. I plan on posting a full review on the rails once i've got em (but i'll be taking the truck out hopefully this weekend on the trail to geta feel for it before the rails go on. and i'm not as much interested in the SORCCA but rather that it puts the 1.9 wraith into 1.9 comp in ultra4 spec. |

Looks like you could push the front axle forward more so the servo clears. In this picture, where the bumper screws in. Looks to be cracked already? |

The rails are straight from that point forward, so moving the axle forward won't help clear the servo. There are two solutions to that: Mount the servo on the rails, or a solution possibly integrated in the production rails. (More info soon on that). | |
