Default Project Yota Truggy, Winter Build 1

Picked up this Truggy chassis on here. Looked like a decent base and the price was right

It came in a bright orange color, not really my style. First order of business was giving it a light sanding and a coat of flat black. once that was done i put on a coat of rhino liner. I like the textured look and it holds up pretty good on the rocks

Here is a pic of the Cab, it has a cab back installed and is narrowed/pinched in the front. Looks pretty sweet!

Anyone have any inputs on color? i'm thinking leaving it black on black might be a bit plain. I already have a few blue trucks, so blue is out.

Maybe if it was for my Girlfriend...lol

Silver is a possibility, I was also thinking a dark gray metallic.

Looks good my 2 cents dark grey and black, there are alot of black on black ones due to people's lack of painting skills. Plus color will make body lines and tubework stand out.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I like the dark gray/silver idea. i'll have to see if i can find a nice looking design. Or if you guy have any cool two tone patterns let me know.

I also already have the dark gray metallic and silver paint so thats a bonus.

Axles look great. Some vp smooth covers would finish them off nicely

Thank you, im not a big fan of the smooth vp covers. The HR ones on there came with the axles so they were free...lol I might splurge on some arb ones in the future

I added the skid and tranny, and put the caged section on the truggy frame so i can start mocking up some links.

Here are a few pics with the axles sitting under it. The wheels and tires are just being used for mock up, they wont be going on this truck. They are 1.9 Axial Trepadors. About 4.5" tall

The wheelbase is about 12" in the pics

I think its a good width

Not sure what im going to do with the extra bit of frame sticking so far out. I think ill trim it back so its flush with the front tubework, unless anyone has any ideas?

Paint teaser pics!

Decided to go in a Bright Strawberry Metallic Red, the pics dont do the color justice. I filled in the million holes in the body as well...lol.
I think im going to do the fender flares and along the bottom to the mid door molding in charcoal metallic or satin black. Also might do the raised section on the hood to match.

You can also see the interior in the back, charcoal seats and black dash/floor.
