| Jeremy's Sammy
Well, this isnt a build thread....or even a built thread....I didnt do a damn thing but empty my paypal account for a kick ass truck that should be a ton of fun to drive! I bought this truck from rob_b who bought it from Travis C. who originally built this truck. When I saw it for sale, I figured that a first name, last initial person was supposed to buy it next... Here's Rob's rebuild thread: rob_b's Sammy All I did was clean it up a bit and slap in some electronics and it's ready to rock! (I'm not sure what the hell the camera was focusing on in this first pic...sorry ) Electronics: 45T Brood w/12t pinion and 54T spur Mamba Max NotPro w/CCBEC 7955 Frysky 4PK Rx As it sits, the truck weighs 6lb 10oz with a small-ish battery. I plan to run a pack that is somewhere around 3000mAh so that will go up slightly. Not bad for a scaler with a lot of metal and tubework! This setup is pretty peppy and I think it will crawl well. I'll get to test it out sometime next week after it stops raining... I plan to take this truck to ECC to run in the scale event. Last edited by JeremyH; 03-09-2012 at 09:53 PM. |

I'm glad that it went to a good home, sure does seem appropriate with the whole first name last initial thing. You need to change the number on the toolbox in the back. Also, that box has a flip top and drawers that slide out, I think I put a dab of CA to keep it intact, just a FYI. You want to trade those outer B.L. rings for some fresh ones that are made just for those wheels, they have six holes and are plain, no CDW logo on em, I sure do miss those rings. Haha....I figured I'd leave the numbers. Thanks for the info on the toolbox. That's cool that it actually works! I'll keep the rings...they look good and I don't mind giving credit to the guys who made them and came up with the idea. "thumbsup " Last edited by JeremyH; 03-09-2012 at 10:32 PM. |

Haha! Definitely not. He took out that short course motor....but it's still pretty zippy. I was shooting for a speed that I can keep up with when running.... Probably! You did a sweet job on those tires! | ||

Thats a bitchen little truck. I did the xr10 universal mod to my ax10 axles and will never own another scaler that doesnt have this mod. The steering is ridiculous. I'm sure your going to have tons of fun with it. |

I got a new rear link mount to replace the one that was bent and I also made up a rear limiter strap for the rear of this truck: I'll come up with one for the front as well to replace the zip tie... |

New gearing for more speed (this is the shiniest pinion I have ever seen): And some new beadlock rings from Travis C. Countersunk hardware......I like! Travis, yours will be in the mail tomorrow. I am still amazed at this steering: I've got a few upgrades coming as well......servo winch.......remote light controller..... Last edited by JeremyH; 03-15-2012 at 10:06 PM. |

Awesome, looking forward to being reunited with those rings, thanks Jeremy! I was always impressed with the steering on that rig too. EDIT: ZIPTIE! That sure doesn't sound like Rob B.! Last edited by travis c.; 03-16-2012 at 11:25 AM. |
