Inspired by the following I've added some inner skins to the doors and backfilled for some scale thickness, kinda. I've painted the white body white, as as someone pointed out, nastly plastic white with the sun shining through it is not a great look. Also stickerz, stickerz make everything look better. These were printed on vinyl using an inkjet printer, time will tell how durable they will prove to be. I've also done some more work on the interior, pretty basic stuff, I've painted the styrene with Tamiya titanium silver and washed over it with some Agrax Earthshade. I've also added some of the body accessories such as the snorkel and door handles etc. Probably should have already done this but still need to find away to pull the body down and mount it. | |

I have now secured the driver in the truck along with a racing harness. I've used the supplied dash for now, purely because it's so light and the truck is already getting a little top heavy for my liking. I need a bit of fine tuning to get the body sitting a little lower, it's about 5mm too high at the moment. |

I found some gear levers on a parts tree I had kicking around and added them to the centre console. I've also lowered the body so that the top of the cab is just about level with the roll bar and the front grill almost sits on the bumper. I realise having taken these shots that I didn't fasten down the front so it still looks high, honest. There are two holes in the bed frame, just behind the cab, for attaching the battery box. I'm going to run bolts through from the battery box and into the cab to mount the body at the back. Annoyingly the supplied metal battery box sits too high on the chassis rails to align the pre-drilled holes and I have thus far totally failed in drilling new holes in the box. It appears to be made from unobtanium and is resistant to all methods of drilling. In frustration I knocked up a replacement styrene one as I want to get this thing running for a meeting. This did allow me to go a little larger, the supplied one was quite cramped. I just need to decide on a finish for it. I shall pass the other box onto to someone who has better tools than I and see if they can drill it. I popped a battery in and gave it a shake down in the garden, performance is superb so far. I'm very pleased with how well it side hills given how high it is sitting and the weight of the interior. |

I've sprayed the replacement battery box in the same white as the body and fitted it. I've also added some netting so you can't see all the hard work I did on the interior, mmmm. I've also managed to get the body sitting lower now so the roll bar might now sort of do its job. And started looking for places for my equipment, bridging ladders and ground anchor added so far. A bit of garden testing. |
