I used soldering iron with tin solder, just because it's winter, my garage is far away in the countryside and I just have an arc welder which is much, much less convenient than yours for the purpose. Tips are general, you may first design your cage by pieces and then print parts 1:1 so you can use a template while cutting and bending rods. OR you may trust your eyes and make cuts and bends in place, like I usually do) Use clamps to fix rods and weld them so the're not melt too much. First just easily weld pieces together so they hold in place, then finish it so there won't be a lot of effort to clean afterwards. Search for an old Harley vid about welding, there are a lot of tips. | |

Such a great build! Those SSD axles look at home, how do you like them?

| Re: 1.9 yj-t build Thanks! These axle cases look awesome, much more scale. Comparing to stock cases they require you to shim pinion gear a bit. Tubes are kind of brass, not the heaviest ones, but also helpinng to keep COG lower. No lockers in the rear looks killer. Gears section in the pumpkin better sealed from the side of tubes so if you’ra a diving fan it is easier to fill it with grease which mostly will stay there. All in all - great product!
